Is this the state of christianity these days? The leaders of megachurches lie and steal from their congregation and then ask for more? I mean look at Ted Haggard, spent years preaching that gays were an abomination, all the while he was smoking meth and having sex with gay prostitutes. Now we see another prominent megachurch leader embezzle ten MILLION dollars from his church, and have the gal to ask members to provide dinner for him and his wife. Drop em off at the church and we'll have them brought over in our rolls royce. What is wrong with people? Just goes to show you how far the christian religion has been twisted into an ugly, uncaring, political tool in this country.
I agree. Any church that asks you to give thousands of dollars to be a member, obviously is only after one thing.
After all the OWS news and boring Cain scandal hoo haa, it was great to read this. Made ma laugh out loud and confirmed all my beliefs RE: organized religion.
Gave me a good chuckle to. Deliver the meals to the church, so we can give them a ride to our mansion in our limo. What the hell is wrong with people?
I understand whole bit about helping out those in need, but if this guy and his wife are indeed millionaires, why should they want charity? They have enough money to care for their own needs. Is there a rule on whether Christians should be charitable to someone even though that person might have more than enough to pay for their own charity?
That's exactly my point. Moreover they stole said millions from the church. It was embezzled from the church by the pastor in question.
That's why I would be wary of ever giving money to a church. You never know where it will go, whether it will go toward the church and their work, or into the pockets of the pastor.
