Any? How about the Law of the Jungle. The law of the gun? The rules of war. Frenghi Rules of Acquisition perhaps? Israel makes the law there. Not you.
This is why Israeli must be destroyed. As I said, allow all those who wish to leave a little time to do so, then remove their filthy flag and get rid of the epic mistake for ever.
You win wars as such but it always costs you the $ billions you throw at it and always lose a lot of American invaders. Not much of a win, especially when you consider the mess you always leave behind is always far worse than the one you went in to.
lmao. If anyone on this planet thinks there's a patriot missile that could shoot down a drone, I have some land to sell you in Florida. What was the success record in 1st Iraq war, 25% of targets, counting those that it brought down with non intended means? And yet it shot down a target that can adjust course? That's ****ing funny.
Then what do you use instead? What alternative did they have? Actually, Israel did buy the system, and buys missiles for it. And yes, the Golan Heights is Syrian territory, which Israel not only recognizes, but has offered back many times since 1967, if Syria would only sign a peace treaty with them and promise to not attack them again. The area is currently used as a DMZ, monitored and militarized by the United Nations. Odds are that is exactly what it was used for. That is often exactly what we use our low cost drones.
Are you even aware of what percent of targets are targeted by PATRIOT in the first place? When it came to Iraqi SCUD missiles, only around 30% were even targeted in the first place. And are you even aware of what a "perfect hit record" for PATRIOT would be? It is 50%. And yea, it can adjust course, big deal. SO can jet fighters and bombers, which the PATRIOT was designed to intercept in the first place. The PATRIOT is guided by RADAR, and since it travels at around MACH 4, good luck in finding a drone jockey that can out-maneuver that missile. Especially since few drones have RADAR, so they would likely have no idea it was even being targeted.
It is fun shooting off rockets bought by money that we give them. Wouldn't you do it? Most guys love shooting off rockets, fireworks. They should have just pulled out their rifles and got some target practice. Place side bets to make it more fun.
Tell me then if you please, how anything can hear the approach of a missile traveling at MACH 4. Well?
The premium package has a stock Kenwood sound system, and is front-to-back draped in only the finest of Corinthian leather.
I was going to point this out. If the drone was these little cheap best buy ones, it likely took system as advanced as a Patriot to actually hit it. Or maybe the Patriot was the only system they had in the area to engage it.
And how much does the US taxpayer pay for social programs? How much have they paid into "welfare" since '65?
The radar signature of a drone will be too small to be tracked let alone be seen on a radar site in the first place - a drone is of similar radar signature size to a large bird so it would be quite useless to have radar that is sensitive to objects the size of birds! Even many of the most advanced military drones are too small to be targeted. Also where do you get your figures of 30% and 50% from? BTW the hit rate in the 1st gulf war was 5% (as opposed to the 85% claimed during the war) and the debris of the patriot missiles caused more damage than the scuds. Edit : just noticed that the headline states small drone - a patriot missile def cannot target a small drone! More scaremongering from the IDF which has backfired.
Yes, lucky for them you lost or it would have been the North Korea thing all over again. All the countries the US fails in do well, and Vietnam was a spectacular fail.
It was their shithole, and you had no business there. And it is still a socialist state so you not only failed militarily, but ideologically as well. You could never accuse US foreign policy of competence.
The Golan use to belong to Syria, but in their stupidity, they forfeited that right when attacked Israel as part of the Six Day War. How dumb are the Syrians? They were offered the land back a couple times and all they had to do was recognize Israel's right to peace. They refused so now Israel is building settlements on the Golan. Ramat HaGolan .
What an astonishing achievement fully funded by the U.S taxpayer money. Do the maths. A US ally shot down a $200 drone with a $3 million Patriot missile This will be a bigger problem as more drones show up on the battlefield Earlier this week, General David Perkins, the commander of the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) spoke at the Association of the US Army’s Global Force symposium, where he discussed the threats that the US military would begin to face in the coming years. One notable example is how a US ally recently shot down a $200 consumer drone with a Patriot Missile... https://www.theverge.com/2017/3/16/14944256/patriot-missile-shot-down-consumer-drone-us-military
Hmm, sounds to me like the military had better invest in a cheaper missile for smaller, less valuable targets then. You don't need a patriot missile for that purpose, an amateur rocket with a few hundred grams of black powder ought to do it, I'll supply it for $89.99.
