A wonderful example here, folks, of ignorance, fear, bigotry and profound stupidity; all contained in a few choice words.
There's a poster in this thread literally advocating for adult-child sex. You either haven't read the thread or these kinds of posts are so common in left-wing circles that you have trouble recognizing them.
I see what you are saying, that a doctor's hippocratic oath does not supercede his personal prejudices to the extent that they would turn away a patient in dire circumstance seeking help. I'm afraid anecdotal references do not an argument make. I fully acknowledge the social stigma of peodophilia. Unlike you however, I do not EXCUSE their behavior because they are afraid of being rejected or "outted" by the very professionals who can actually provide some help.
Oh look, what do we have here? https://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x1709387 How does that crow taste?
What does that have to do with someone in this thread advocating for adult-child sex relationships and your failure to recognize it as such?
First off the Hippocratic oath is not only not legally binding, many medical schools today do not require it to be taken as a requirement of graduation. And indeed, refusing to treat a patient because he knows he cannot properly aid the patient, the doctor fulfills the oath, since he knows he might cause more harm than help. Which behavior? The behavior of harming children or the behavior of being hesitant to seek help due to fears? Either way, there is a big difference between acknowledging and comprehending the reason behind behavior, and excusing the behavior.
