Yes. I back you on that.

But only to right before the point where you claim that it's an intentional disparagement. I would call it careless.

Focus, focus. Perry said nitrous oxide. He really really did.

Now, I wouldn't care about such a stupid verbal gaffe if it weren't couched in Perry's general intellectual laziness, lack of historical knowledge, and conspiracy theories.

So it just shows what we all now know: Perry is a dunce.

Military culture is exactly what you don't want your civilian commander in chief to buy into. It's sort of the point of having civilian control.

In any case, Obama is smart, intellectually curious, and educated. Perry is a dunce. Verbal gaffes don't matter much for the former, but do for the latter.

    I think it was unintentional.

Obama is that distant from our history that includes a lot of wars with the wounding and dying of American soldiers.

Wounded US military are tended to under enemy fire by medical personal called corpsmen.

Their commander in chief should know how to pronounce their name.

Pssst: Obama does know how to pronouce corpsmen. He just made a verbal error. It happens when you talk alot. And that's OK if it isn't part of a larger vice of intellectual laziness and lack of education. Perry, for instance.

I can't get the video to fast forward and I'm not playing 87 minutes of it

Anyway, most drag strips have changed their classes to all run 1/8 mile vs 1/4 mile so those cars "spraying" aka using nitrous probably are using 46% less

Actually the news story is from 2010 and last night I believe I heard him say "nitrous oxide" but could be wrong.

What I found totally absurd was Perry's statements that reducing greenhouse gas levels would be an economic disaster for the United States while at the same time bragging about how Texas managed to make major cuts in these gases while growing the economy in Texas. Michelle Bachmann also jumped on the bandwagon by pointing out that 40%(?) of US electrical power was generated with coal.

But wait a second. America's Power, an advocate for the coal industry, states that clean coal technology already exists and that incorporating this technology will add "green" jobs to the US economy. Why aren't Perry and Bachmann advocating the incorporation of this technology on the existing coal fired electrical powerplants? This certainly isn't going to cause an economic catastrophy and, in fact, it appears that it would improve the US economy by adding jobs in the private sector without any government funding required.

NOx(nitrogen oxide) results from high combustion chamber temps in car engines.Nitrogen is harmless ,but in the engine ,it bonds with Oxygen ,creating NOx,which when struck by sunlight ,photochemical smog is formed.NOx is controlled by the EGR valve which recirculates exhaust gases into the intake air stream to dilute it,reducing NOx.
I did hear him say NOS,but knew he meant NOx.
