Unless you've campaigned on how it's reckless to take $100 bills from strangers.

I'd guess pretty much everyone is to one extent or the other or at one point or another. I must admit I've pocketed a ten dollar bill that I found on the street instead of turning it in to the police even though I'm against stealing. Oh well.

    God(*)(*)(*)(*) I love American politics!!

"How dare you use the same tactics that we've been using against you for the past 20 years! SHAME ON YOU...you...you MISCREANTS!"

Did you break your keyboard typing that?

Just the tip of the melting iceberg. Trust me...there's PLENTY more.

He railed against the stimulus then used it to balance the budget. That's hypocrisy by any definition of the word.

Just proves he's a hypocrite. Another reason why not to vote for him.

Did he say that it's reckless to take stimulus money when offered or that it's reckless to offer stimulus money in the first place?

If Texas had refused the stimulus money would that money not have been spent at all by anyone? If so then I think that those complaining about the Governor's actions may have a point. I honestly don't know what would have happened although I'm assuming that the money would have still been spent, just elsewhere.

So you overlook the fact that under Perry, the Texas debt growth has outpaced the federal debt growth?

If you're going to burn strawmen, could you at least pick one that's a little harder?

“Employers who have to pay more taxes have less money to make their payroll” and would have to raise prices on their products, the governor said. “The calls to take the (stimulus) money and sort out the consequences later are quite troubling to me.”

Another reason not to vote for Perry.

I already knew I didn't like Perry. I don't know why this is news to anyone else.

As a libertarian, will you vote for Perry if he wins the general election? I've always thought libertarians have it tough either way.

I can't speak for all libertarians -- a lot vote Republican every election and will vote for Perry if he wins. Personally, I believe voting for someone I don't believe in is only encouraging the lesser of the two evils game that everyone condemns. If Perry, Romney or another RINO wins the primary (which is most likely), I will be voting Libertarian.

I haven't intentionally overlooked anything. I know very little about the man or his record. It just bothered me that people were jumping on him for taking stimulus money even if he disagreed with the stimulus. I have no problem with that. I may very well have bunches of other issues with the man, but that's not one of them.
