cobb shouldnt be kept out because he is a racist,he should be kept out because of how he deliberatly tried to injure people,the hall of fame is a joke,should be called the hall of SHAME allowing cobb in as well as cheaters like gaylord perry.
Except Rose only bet on other teams games,he didnt bet on his own teams games,somehow its okay to intentionally hurt people as cobb did but its a major crime in baseball to bet on other teams games? oh brother is right. yeah exactly.If Clemons,Mcguire,and Bonds are not banned who hurt and tainted the game as PLAYERS are not banned yet he is,then like it said it is coopertowns hall of SHAME. I also hold Hank Aaron as the all time leader in home runs and Babe Ruth as the all time single season record holder.Maris had more games so he doesnt count. I also dont mention Roger Clemons name as a great one anymore alongside of other pitching greats either.I used to go back and forth between him and Nolan Ryan as the most dominating pitcher ever to play the game.No more.His name should never be mentioned in the same breath as Nolan Ryan anymore as a great pitcher or sandy Koufax or any of the others greats.
Because Roger Maris is not a HOF worthy player. Sure he won two MVP awards, one of them which he didn't deserve (both Mantle and Norm cash were superior to Maris in 1961). Juan Gonzalez also won two MVP's, and he belongs nowhere near the HOF either. Yes, he broke Ruth's record, in an expansion year having Mantle batting right behind him. Make no mistake, Maris was a good player who had one record breaking year, but he's not hall of famer in any way shape or form. Tim Raines, Jeff Bagwell, and Edgar Martinez are much more deserving of the HOF than Maris.

Clemens has vastly superior career stats to Ryan, and a better peak. Steroids is another issue. Ryan may have had 7 no hitters, but Clemens had 7 CY Young awards while Ryan had zero. Which is more impressive? The funny thing is that I don't even like Clemens. But I give credit where it's due.
