Actually there is quite a bit of evidence, all across the biologiical spectrum of species, that there is a very strong, biological drive that attracts individuals to the opposite sex. IMHO I dont doubt that some can be born without this attraction, that simply makes it more likely for a sexual attraction to the same sex to develope. Just as the absence of access to members of the opposite sex such as bird colonies with a shortage of males, or prisons for only men or women make it more likely for a sexual attraction to the same sex to develope.

 

The commonly accepted answer is that homosexuality appears to be a combination of biological and environmental factors. Saying "it's a choice" implies it's as easy as waking up one day and deciding you want to be gay.

When I was younger I embarked on a quest to make myself straight by repeatedly attempting to "get off" to heterosexual porn. I found despite my best efforts it was always the male who I was interested in. Then I tried (repeatedly) lesbian pornography in order to take the man out of the picture and, well... absolutely nothing happened. Nada. This was long before I had sexual contact with a guy and I had only looked at gay porn a couple of times.

So you'll excuse me from where I'm sitting if I say that for me at least, it's hardwired.

I don't think many are seeing it as a "big win", as much as happy that these organizations like A&E and Cracker Barrel realize that they bend over too quickly and too easily for a very minor portion of the population.

Of course, a little "in your face!" to the smallest and loudest minority on Earth is always enjoyable... when it's legitimate.

Most importantly, hopefully other businesses, large and small, will follow suit. It's been getting quite pathetic the last few years, as companies and various others are forced into apologies for doing nothing but stating their beliefs.

Sad thing for A&E though, is that many people won't forget this. Sure, just like Chik-Fil-A the profits/ratings will surge upward due to new supporters... in this case, when people realize they really have nothing to offer except a funny "reality" show... it won't last.

I hope the Robertsons decide to move on at the end of their current contract. Every network in the nation would pay big money to have them.

They can already get married. Two more states agreeing to it is hardly news... or anything to be concerned with.
