The Wuhan lab received $600,000 US taxpayer dollars from EcoHealth Alliance between 2014 and 2019. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases allocated $826,277 to the lab over a six-year period ending in 2019 via the New York City-based non-profit EcoHealth Alliance. The money for the grant came from the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a sub-agency for the National Institutes of Health that is led by White House senior medical Fauci.

Between fiscal years 2014 and 2019, EcoHealth received approximately $3.75 million in grant money to carry out its study titled, “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergency.
According to Fauci's, emails that were made public via the Freedom of Information Act, he received an email from Dr. Kristian Andersen of the Scripps Research Institute on January 31, 2020. Dr. Andersen indicated that he and other scientists found COVID-19 to be inconsistent with a natural origin: This email claimed the unusual features of the virus and its sequences look engineered; Eddie, Bob, Mike, and myself all find the genome inconsistent with expectations from evolutionary theory.

The next day, on February 1, 2020, Fauci sent an urgent email to NIAID Principal Deputy Director, Dr. Hugh Auchincloss, saying: “It is essential that we speak this AM…. Read this paper as well as the e-mail that I will forward to you now. You will have tasks today that must be done. And Fauci provided Dr. Andersen's email and findings.

Dr. Auchincloss responded the same day. He indicated that the research contained in the paper that Fauci sent happened before the gain-of-function moratorium that went into effect. He also stated that “Emily” (presumably, Dr. Emily Erbelding, Director of the Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases at the NIH) was certain that gain-of-function research on coronaviruses did not go through the Potential Pandemic Pathogens (HHS P3CO) framework created as a tool after the moratorium.

Fauci testified to the Senate HELP Committee that NIH and NIAID have not funded gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. He also testified that Dr. Baric was not doing gain-of-function research. Yet, the February 1, 2020 Auchincloss email clearly claims that Baric and Shi were conducting gain of function research with NIH funding.

So do you need to read every email in Fauci's data base to get the information you need, or are the emails pertaining to his knowledge of the gain of function research coupled with his grant approvals, and conflicting Senate testimony not enough to know he isn't on the level?
