What's the rules in regards to posting in current events? I've noticed many threads that are created in the current events aren't actually current events. Instead it'll be an editorial or opinion piece talking about a current issue.
I am not sure how you would post a current event WITHOUT giving your opinion, the rules clearly state that you have to provide some content of your own, not just a link...what else would one write?
I think he's more or less referring to the posts that are strictly based off of opinion pieces from various partisan smut sites...
I know who he's referring to, but, my point is that he's saying that the posts in CE should be fact-based and not from partisan hack sites...
It may not be a violation , many times members report threads just because they do not agree with the OP , we do not ignore many reports
In at least two out of the four cases the answer is they are conspiracy theories. The mods have moved two threads.
We find a few threads in the Current Events forum when they should be elsewhere. Some people just assume that their opinion can be taken as fact. To 'injest' - yes, you do need to provide an opinion when you create a thread in the Current Events forum, but you also need a link to your news source, and your thread must relate to a current event. In the Political Opinions & Beliefs forum, you don't need a source. Al you need to provide is your opinion on a political issue - providing it remains within guidelines, of course.
So now pictures are thread worthy? http://www.politicalforum.com/current-events/230811-controversial-obama-image-catches-serious-heat.html I only ask because when I did that, the thread was immediately closed for not meeting the guidelines. Some consistency would be nice.
