As a white 1%er, I know the black community better than most: I grew up in the inner city of Milwaukee. I agree with a lot of what was written in the OP. I know many black people to be extremely principled, extremely family oriented, and very conservative, in many ways.

But there is a massive dichotomy in the black culture. Simultaneous to the older generation's stark principled conservativism, the remainder is feckless and uneducated - and getting increasingly uncivilized every day.

And the problem is that the principled/cultured/religious side is utterly impotent to do a thing about it. Either they're scared to impugn the problems within their own neighborhoods - a problem that infects the entire black culture - or they're simply defeatist.

The Black culture can be fixed from within, but with charlatans like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson being mouthpieces for continued enabling of irresponsible behaviour, it isn't going to happen.

Until people like Bill Cosby, Allen West and JC Watt are truly listened to in Black communities, change will truly not take place.
