    Donald Trump entered the holiday season with a bulletproof plan: Sabotage the basic functioning of the government that he resides over in order to spotlight the fight that Democrats do not support a policy which is extremely unpopular. Trump is losing that Shutdown Fight in a Rout.

    It should not be surprising that Trump is losing this fight given that he said, "“I will take the mantle...I’m not going to blame you for it....I will take the mantle of shutting down, and I’m going to shut it down for border security” live on national television for the world to see and hear.

    In response to this resounding loss, Trump and his Trumpettes have decided to ignore empirical data and double down by claiming they think this will overshadow Pelosi's big moment.

    So what should happen? Well, to that, I turn to Donald Trump:

    "Well, if you say who gets fired, it always has to be the top. I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top. And the president's the leader. And he's got to get everybody in a room. And he’s got to lead."

    The politicians upon whom Trump is pissing care a great deal about those polls.

    But sure, if you want to talk about the hundreds of thousands of federal workers that are currently unsure of when they will work or get paid because of Trump's shutdown, we can talk about them.

    Most of those government workers are Democrats.

    1/4 of the federal government seems to be operating better today than a week ago.

    To this day many Republicans blame Obama for the Katrina disaster. Many from your party even blame him for ISIS even though it was your hero Bush who is responsible for its growth.

    Most government employees tend to be Democrats who can't hold down a real job in the private sector.

    Well yes Trump is responsible but it's a good thing there government is shut down. If they want the government opened up so bad they can fund to the wall. Good on Trump for sticking to his guns.

    Explain the logic behind pointing out the demographics of which Americans are most directly affected by the shutdown.

    It seems like you are happy to cost Americans their jobs, homes, and money if the majority of those hurt are democrats.

    The Pentagon are the civilians of the military not the uniform military.

    The military industrial complex isn't the government but with in the private sector.

    It does in a roundabout way. It puts pressure on the government officials to respect and obey the wishes of their constituents.
