That was Franklin Roosevelt's argument for packing the Supreme Court. He said they were a bunch of old men who needed "help" because of the caseload. One of Roosevelt's picks was Arkansas Senator Joseph Robinson who was the Democrat majority leader. Time was if you picked a member of the Senate or House for the Supreme Court, they were assured of getting approved. Robinson died of a heart attack during the process which de-railed some of Roosevelt's plans. Robinson's ego and nerve was on full display when the Democrats got this Arkansas commemorative coin approved while he was alive. He had passed on when it was issued.

    Robinson All half.jpg

Trump has neither been indicted nor convicted of insurrection which was the reason for throwing him off the ballot in Colorado, Illinois and Maine. You might think he's guilty, but that does not justify using it as an excuse from barring him from the ballot. The Supreme Court disagreed by a 9-0 margin.

What a laugh. If Trump were that bad, why didn't your party indict him a couple of years ago? He would have been convicted by now if guilty and therefore disqualified. No, your party waited just before the election period so that you can use it to drain his money and take his time DURING the election process. That is politically weaponizing the Justice System.

I wish that Trump could have been beaten in the primaries, but that didn't happen. Now it's Trump vs. Biden. Neither one of them should be running for president, but we are stuck with them. You can vote for Biden, and I will vote for Trump. End of subject.

That's because there's no real options out there.

I still prefer we ditch party platforms and have each candidate stand on their own.

Colorado judge rules Trump ‘engaged in an insurrection’
    https://www.politico.com/news/2023/...tion-but-can-still-run-for-president-00127909
    Which is all I claimed
It's certainly not funny that a former President has been charged with 91 felonies.
Because Garland is a stickler for due process.
Possibly, but he's certainly doing EVERYTHING possible to delay and postpone his trials.
No, YOUR party (eg. judge cannon) has done their best to fly cover for him. If Garland wanted to weaponize the justice system he would have done as you say and expedited the process any way possible.

IF it were me, and I really believed I was innocent, I would be doing EVERYTHING in my power to get to trial to prove my innocence and clear my name. Without respect for how it affected ANYTHING else in my life. My Grandfather would expect me to defend my honor and, by extension his ... I believe this even though he's been dead 50 years now. My family takes our collective reputation seriously. I was raised under a cloud of personally being responsible to my family and honoring our reputation.

The point being IF tRaitor tRump believes he's innocent why isn't he demanding to be tried so he can prove it? IF the "tRump" brand is such a big deal why isn't he defending it?
If wish's were horses beggars would ride.
It's a pretty sure bet tRaitor tRump will lose Colorado. I'm thinking of volunteering in a swing state to work against him where it will make a difference.

You are either telling an untruth intentionally or just get terrible sources for information.
There's a border bill out there to be negotiated and passed.

    ...
"I urge Congress to come together and swiftly pass this bipartisan agreement," President Joe Biden said, also praising the migration measures in the bill, which took months to negotiate.
    https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us...-bill-tighten-border-security-aid-2024-02-04/

    ...
The bill was also supported by several groups that typically align with Republicans, such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Wall Street Journal editorial board. The National Border Patrol Council, a union that represents about 18,000 border patrol agents, also endorsed the bill.

Does Not ‘Accept’ 5,000 Illegal Immigrants a Day

Leading up to the vote, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise on social media said the bill “accepts 5,000 illegal immigrants a day.” Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn added her voice to the opposition, posting that she would “never vote to make illegal immigration legal.”

    Those comments misrepresented the bill.

I've been prescribed steroids before for a temporary medical condition and I've felt the roid rage -- I think Biden was on steroids during the SOTU speech. Looked like roid rage to me. It woke grandpa up.

What is so quaint. You have no idea what the BIPARTISAN bill was about.
In negotiation of bills, neither side gets all of what they want. But each side gets some of what they want.

It was the best bill put forth in the entirety of immigration bills.

I don't think you know what the bill did.

The 2x impeached and MAGA doesn't want the border controlled. They work cheap at golf courses and their gardeners.

    ...
    The Bill, in Brief
The $118 billion bill, called the Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, sought significant changes in border policy. It included money to build more border barriers, to greatly expand detention facilities, and to hire more Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol agents, asylum officers and immigration judges to reduce the years-long backlog in cases to determine asylum eligibility. It sought to expedite the asylum process, essentially ending — in most cases — the so-called “catch and release” policy whereby migrants are released into the U.S. pending asylum hearings. And it would have increased the standard of evidence needed to win asylum status.

    Well, you're wrong.
Shooter knows exactly what was in that border bill.
    National Security Act, 2024 (H.R. 815) - GovTrack.us
You see, he doesn't rely on biased media to tell him what's in a bill. He prefers to read it for himself, with no paid pundit opinions or editorial board agendas.

Your fact check thingy entirely missed this part, eh?
The $118.28 billion national security supplemental package includes:
    • $60.06 billion to support Ukraine as it fights back against Putin’s bloody invasion and protects its people and sovereignty.
    • $14.1 billion in security assistance for Israel.
    • $2.44 billion to support operations in the U.S. Central Command and address combat expenditures related to conflict in the Red Sea.
    • $10 billion in humanitarian assistance to provide food, water, shelter, medical care, and other essential services to civilians in Gaza and the West Bank, Ukraine, and other populations caught in conflict zones across the globe.
    • $4.83 billion to support key regional partners in the Indo-Pacific and deter aggression by the Chinese government.
    • $2.33 billion to continue support for Ukrainians displaced by Putin’s war of aggression and other refugees fleeing persecution.
That's 93.76 BILLION of a $118 BILLION bill going to Ukraine and foreign aid. This isn't a border bill, it's a Ukraine aid bill.
    • The bipartisan border policy changes negotiated by Senators Chris Murphy (D-CT), Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ), and James Lankford (R-OK).
    • $20.23 billion to address existing operational needs and expand capabilities at our nation’s borders, resource the new border policies included in the package, and help stop the flow of fentanyl and other narcotics.
    • The Fentanyl Eradication and Narcotics Deterrence (FEND) Off Fentanyl Act.
    • $400 million for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program to help nonprofits and places of worship make security enhancements.

But I can tell you've been at the Koolaid again, what with your "Trump wants cheap labor for his golf courses" sound bite. Did you get that right off of MSNBC?
The fact is, the entire Trump organization has been a big supporter of e verifile for at least two decades. They scan and do all they are allowed to do to verify that their new hires are in fact authorized to work in the US. And, they pay prevailing wage.

Biden gave what was a campaign speech during a campaign year. Nothing more and nothing less. The real "State of the Nation" is precarious to say the least for so many reasons that should be obvious to everyone. And neither Biden nor Trump is going to "fix" anything because at this point it's gone too far.

Was that a red light you saw? Or was it kind of orange-ish?

Kidding. I get your point, but it isn't brainwashing. The right has been whining about leftist academia for as long as I can remember. What they don't do, and have never done, is put their efforts into solving that issue instead of just griping.

My message to all who share your view is this: If you want more conservatives in academia, put your effing boots on the ground and go teach.

According to the head of the border patrol, yes, it would help a lot.

Please explain the math on that statement. That's like saying that losing my job doesn't lower my income. Taxes are the country's income. If taxes are cut, the treasure has less income. Is there some exception to that?

The only way to solve it is to change professions. I graduated with a degree in accounting and got a job straight out school. I went back for an MBA eight years later. I landed another position and saved as much as I could in the 401K and precious metals. My wife's career was better than mine. So was her 401K and pension because she spent her whole career at one fairly large company and rose close to vice president. We ended up financially secure.

A lot of radicals stayed in college and got their PhDs so they could be professors. They control the education system. They have created left wing robots the point they control of the political system

Democrats love to tell us about how smart they are and how the Republicans are bunch of poorly educated bumpkins. Yes, you guys have more PhDs, but a lot them don't have good common sense. That is reflected in the Democrat fiscal and monetary policies which are unsound. They will probably control the political system by buying votes from the poor, but the threats from our foreign adversaries, China, Russia, Iran, and even North Korea if it gets the bomb and the missiles are great. We also have rot from within because uncontrolled immigration, the failure of the education system and a growing underclass that is starting to see no way up will result in widespread crime and civil unrest.

I might have been a teacher, but my mother, who was a teacher, and darn good one, told me to stay out of it because I'd always be poor. She drilled that into me from the time I was a child. So an education degree was not on the table for me.
