On that subject of foreknowledge and predestination... I say let the atheists and other non-theists assume the role as victor in declaring that predestination (as in God knows all therefore God predestined or predetermined the fate of every man woman and child) is a FACT.

How many of you Atheists and other non-theists are willing to declare that predestination is an act of God?

If the God of Abraham is omniscient then it is predestined to do whatever act of predestination it may do.

Incorporeal, the worst thing is not that you know the poll is pure trolling*) but that you actually allow yourself to do it.

*) This particular case sets up a false dilemma by employment of loaded questions.

More accusations of Trolling. Are you a moderator? No? OK. Just checking.

How are the questions "loaded". Either you are or you are not,,, in and of either of the categories.

Then provide objective empirical proof that you are not asking atheists if the Abrahamic God mingles with their fates just so you can start a post with: "So by your own admission that God exists ..."

Hey, I believe I even got the "by your own admission" literally correct.

Does the question "have you to stopped beating your wife?" ring a bell?

This just because you asked. You know perfectly well how it works, of course.

Your presumptuous nature is really getting to be boring. You presume to KNOW what my intent is. Do you likewise have objective empirical evidence to support your claim of what my 'future' actions will be?

Hey if that is your BELIEF, then that is your BELIEF.

My wife is deceased, and I consider that a personal attack against my wife who is no longer here. That is a personal attack by inference.

Again, your presumptuous nature places you in error. If I knew what you intended, then I would not have asked. How do you KNOW what I KNOW so well?

Gee... the subject of predestination came to a screeching halt. What happened?

Must be that most of the people on this forum do not have the courage and character necessary to answer a straight up question. A question pertaining to a subject that they also openly argue about on another thread.. No backbone when it is shown that your name is displayed with the manner in which you vote. No backbone when it is shown that the questions leave no room for rationalizations (none were requested in the questions).

Of course that would be completely delusional, since no atheist would declare that.

Not me. Instead I deny the existence of any omniscient being. Solves the contradiction quite neatly.

There are atheists and other non-theists on this forum who have attributed predestination to an act of God. Now, can you truthfully submit what you have submitted above when it is impossible for you to KNOW what each and every atheist will or will not do?

If you deny the existence of God, then you do not KNOW if God predestined anyone and you also do not KNOW if predestination is an act of God.

    Thanks for the vote.

Yeah...this is a "little detail" that's pretty hard to get around.

    No, there are not.

There are atheists and other non-theists on this forum who have pointed out that if omniscience existed, the the universe would be predestined... even if there was no God at all and the omniscient entity was a turtle.

I reflect only the truth of what is contained in the thread that you are so grossly misrepresenting in this poll.

So what? God has nothing to do with the contradiction between omniscience and free will. They are mutually exclusive without even considering a God.

That said, if I deny the existence of God then I deny in concert that God has done anything at all, to include predestined the universe. You have this odd way of missing the most obvious consequences of simple statements.

    I live to serve.

The idea of free will, which is one of the most common ideas in all Abrhamian religions means that god does not control fate. If god controls fate than free will does not exist.

Sheesh ... where do you even get the idea from that I care about your personal life? I couldn't care less, Incorporeal. That particular question is a MODEL that is used to illustrate a type of questions where every possible answer will equally place guilt upon the responding person.

    Time will tell.

That is my whole point. If you deny the existence of God, then you are not qualified to speak on the subject matter of predestination in relationship to God. If you deny the existence of God, then by what means do you use to validate any statement relative to God other than your denial of the existence of God? In other words, how is it possible for you to judge something that you deny even exists? If you deny that God exists, then what do you KNOW about God?

    Who or what?

The question was not labeled as a 'MODEL', and was directed at me... therefore it was a personal issue that you directed at me.

Even in your suggestion of the question being a model, your conclusion is based on a presumption of a 'possibility'... not based on fact.

That response does not answer this question: "How do you KNOW what I KNOW so well?"

Then do it. The poll is set up to display the screen-names of who voted in each category.

Not when it comes to issues that are important to me. Then I was not told when I signed up on this forum that there was a comic section, I was led to believe that these forums were for serious discussion. Perhaps we must have read a different set of TOS pages.

I'm sorry but the fact you placed "Atheist" and "and God predestined my fate" in the same sentence, when you know full well atheist is defined as "lack of belief in God/deities" is pretty (*)(*)(*)(*) funny if you ask me. It's an oxymoron really.

Non-theist works fine though, I think, since you can have no religion and still believe in a higher power.

Also I wasn't aware the TOS prohibited humor. Thanks for letting me know though.

Incopreal, it seems contridictory to have God predestining ones 'fate'. Once God is involved, then 'fate' is not.

I do hold to the doctrines of 'election' and 'predestination'. And I also recgonize mans will in the issue as being operative and effective.
