The terrorist boogeyman in terms of being a supposed "threat" to the muti-trillion dollar American military might has been promoted in Chuck Norris decades beforehand. Its a fairytale. How do we know he isn't CIA like Saddam was, to saber rattle and make nasty faces whenever the War Machine demanded? Letterman and Leno can just make jokes about Amadinejad being a Hitler, or a little nutcase, so when British PM Cameron comes on he can push for fears of Iran and justify an attack, or have McCain come on with his Napoleon complex, complete with never ending self-aggrandizing of his war exploits, and amibitions, his decadent stupefaction fostered on the American people, and the "entertainment" radio/TV lemmings follow suit with Jon Stewart or Goldman parroting endless bogus nuclear threats for the benefit of the Evil Empire and its Overlords.

The corporate, foundation funded media had intentionally preserved the "just war" narrative of the Af-Pak war on terror while engaging in Limited Hangout critiques of Bush admininstration abuses, war lies, and Iraq. 9/11 was intentionally avoided by the lamestream media so the public would not be alerted to the "war on terrors" many and voluminous fictions, and subesequently voice opposition. Like the Wikileaks torture files and torture memos describe destroyed tapes, the Able Danger data was destroyed, so no one has anything except the word of career crooks. Like Bush Sr. saying he was out of the loop on Iran-Contra, and the arming of Saddam. So too, as with the coverup of the Rupert Murdoch phone hacking, actually illegal wiretapping and spying as his Fox News outlets serve the NeoCon agenda as assets of the National Security State they too were doing the dirty work of the intel agencies, promting fake terror threats extracted with torture or similar unreliable fakery.

The cultivation of boogeymen continues to this day for the control of public consciousness, to paralyze with fear, and for the benefit of the National Security State. And apparently from these calls at CSPAN, the public has caught on to this.

US/UK/Israeli/Saudi gang arming Jihadist Allah-Akhbar crazies

Saudi Arabia reportedly reaches a deal with Israeli army to buy Israeli weapons for militants fighting to conquer Syria.

Israeli Radio reported that Saudi Arabia signed a 50-million-dollar deal with Israeli army to supply the foreign-backed militants with old Israeli military equipment and arms.

The reports added that the weapons include different kinds of anti-tank missiles, military vehicles, artillery equipment, and night vision devices.

Other sources have quoted Takfiri sources as saying that the Israeli weapons will be used to maintain control over Aleppo and its surrounding areas in northern Syria.

The report came as The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported last month that Saudi Arabia has provided the Takfiri militants with Russian-made Konkurs anti-tank missiles.

It quoted militant sources as saying that they had received the first batch of the heavy weaponry from Saudi Arabia in northern city of Aleppo.

On June 14, US President Barack Obama ordered his administration to provide the militants with weapons, claiming that the Syrian government had used “chemical weapons” against the militants and thus crossed Washington’s “red line.” Damascus has rejected the allegation as “lies.”

Israeli President Shimon Peres voiced support for Washington’s arming of the Takfiri militants in Syria. Takfiris accuse most Islamic sects of being infidels.

Not anymore. Americans are tired of these wars and all the soldier deaths. I think it would take Syria using nuclear weapons to get a majority percent of Americans supporting another ground invasion. We still have a ton of troops in Afghanistan and Iraq; and are loaded pretty heavy in South Korea right about now too. Putting 200K troops on the ground in Syria would cause a lot of issues at home and end some relationships abroad. Might even put us head-to-head with Russia; which would be expensive and trash the global stock markets.

 

Assange and Manning, Jeremy Hammond are prosecuted way more vociferously under Obama than Daniel Ellsberg, and are subject to much harsher, cruel and unusual punishment. Malloy and other hosts censoring Wikileaks revelations of Obama starting new wars in Libya, Syria is unforgivable and the backing of Yemen and Bahrain tyrants as well, and displays GREAT HYPOCRISY while hosts like Mike Malloy continue to go on and on about Bush/Cheney and Iraq.

I didn't say ground invasion. When George Bush ordered the "Shock and Awe" on Iraq, whose government and people had never done anything to the US, and had no weapons of mass destruction, his popularity went from crap to about 80% which was said to be the highest rating ever achieved by a sitting President.

 

Correction. He had WMD's. He didn't kill 80K Kurds with his urine. What you are referring to is that 12 years later when we got there on the ground, the WMD's were long since gone or had lost their dangerous properties. Chances are during the 12 years he had to move them, he sent them to Syria. And that's why you see some evidence of chemical use there now. My point remains the same though - Americans are tired of being in muzzie countries trying to force Western democracy down their throats. I say let them work out their own garbage; and most Americans feel the same way.

 

Whether most Americans are anti-Shock and Awe on Syria at this moment or not is immaterial. On a moment's notice the Pentagon and State Depts can "leak" some "secret, inside info" to The Associated Press- like American ships have been attacked in the Gulf of Tonkin, a document that Bashar Assad has ordered the use of poison gas, that babies in Syria are being pulled from their incubators by Syrian troops, or whatever, and the war drums will start echoing through the country.

 

Excellent point. So how do you suggest Americans decide if they are for or against military action? For an average American that goes to work, comes home to care for his or her family, etc. - how do they know anything if not from CNN, FOX, and BBC or from some Presidential Address to the Nation?

Rush, Neal Boortz, Sean Hannity, etc. All a bunch of scum sucking pigs hell bent on warping American views of current events for the sole purpose of personal wealth beyond what they could ever possibly spend. Who ever thought that people would spend 3, 4 or more per month just for phone, TV and internet? We need more though.

In today's world, the decision to go to war rests with one person, the president. If the POTUS decides to go to war, then the country is at war once again.

Now those on the East Berlin side...my COUNTERPARTS...would get all excited if they knew I was coming as I would ALWAYS remember to bring a pair of Levi's or a Car AM/FM Stereo Cassette Deck with me as even though the members of the East German Stasi's JOB was to watch me...that didn't mean they didn't have KIDS! LOL!

I remember the first time I was there and met a few of them they asked me if I could get a Car Stereo as it was near impossible to get on in the Soviet Eastern Block Countries and I said..."Sure! AM/FM CD Player?"....and they said..."NO! Just a Cassette Player!"....as they were not able to get CD's at the time and since the Stasi and KGB Leadership at the time viewed all Compact Disc's or CD ROM's with ABSOLUTE SUSPICION...IF YOU WERE Stasi or KGB and you were CAUGHT WITH A CD on your person....they would take you away thinking you were selling STATE SECRETS!!! LOL!

What they would ask me for was the Car Stereo...Blue Jean's...preferably Levi's....a Sony Walkman....and a Cassette of Neil Young's RUST NEVER SLEEPS!! LOL!!

So the fate of the WORLD and the prevention of a THERMONUCLEAR HOLOCAUST...was determined by being able to give the two East German Brandenburg Gate Guards a paper bag with a Half Gallon of No Pulp Tropicana Florida Orange Juice NOT from Concentrate and a Bunch of Bananas....as the Bananas and Florida Orange Juice were not something East German's or Stasi or KGB could get and were considered an EXTREME DELICACY...and then after you gave the boarder guards that they would let you bring in a few pairs of Levi's, a Walkman and if you brought in 2 containers of O.J...gave the guards a container of California Strawberries or a Plastic Bag of Texas Spicy Hickory Smoked Beef Jerky...they would let you bring in the Car Stereo and Cassette Player.

We would all...Stasi, KGB and us....run over to these Street Vendors selling this East German Bratwurst out of the sides of Vans and Trucks or on street corners on the East German side of the Brandenburg Gate. They would sell these sausages and have this WORLD FAMOUS EAST GERMAN MUSTARD that all of us looked forward to putting on the Bratwurst.

So the scene was COMICAL as we would be fighting the KGB and Stasi for a place IN LINE waiting to get a Bratwurst with this awesome MUSTARD the moment the awkward silence of seeing and being seen walking through the gate and as soon as the picture taking and note taking ended these 5 foot 9 BRICKS of Men would drop EVERYTHING and run over to the side of the road where the KNOWN vendor who we all knew sold the BEST SAUSAGE AND MUSTARD and would try to CUT IN TO LINE IN FRONT OF US by speaking German....but the Vendor who KNEW US...and me specifically because I would always slip the guy a $10 American Bill as a tip whenever I happened to cross over....would look at the Stasi and KGB trying to cut in line and say in German..... Die Amerikaner Spitze besser!!! Which means....The American's Tip Better!!! LOL!!

I look at things differently than most people. The best example of how I the way I approach problems can best be shown by an incident which occurred about 40 years ago. I was pastor at a Baptist church and as part of the sermon pointed out what the denomination was doing that it shouldn’t be doing at all or it should be doing differently.
After the service a Deacon asked me why I always pointed out the things that our denomination was doing wrong and why I didn’t point out what other denominations were doing wrong instead. The reply was: “I’m not a member of the other denominations, we have serious problems and should correct them before we worry about what other groups are doing are doing.”
Why am I picking on the USA? I am a part of this country, and believe that in many areas we have major problems which should be corrected before tell other nations how they should be running their countries.
Most of us have joked about what and why politicians say and why they say the things they do. The problem being that if we agree with their views we tend to accept everything they say and if we don’t we reject everything they say and it’s been that way from the beginning. Our Constitution is a good example of the tone of a political speech and it might be a good time to look at it.

“We the people” How many were involved in writing the Constitution? A lot less than the number of people who signed it. We were just coming out of a war with England and required a document on which a nation would be based. The composition had to inspire, just like the campaign speeches we hear today. The difference between what was written then and what we would have written to day might be the removal of the word “more”.
“We the people” were not all the people we would consider to be all the people today as it was only a small percentage of those with a European heritage living here.

The job description calls for an administrator who can fill most positions associated with the executive section of the government only with the approval of congress, making appointments of short duration when congress is not in session and to report the State of the Union. The President can make suggestions. Does that job description sound like a strong President was needed to fill the slot? It is evident that the President was never meant to have any power other than Congress allows him to have.



Section 2
1: The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.
2: He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments.
3: The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session.
Our constitution does not allow for a strong President but does allow for an administrator. All of the noise I hear about a strong President reminds me of the transition from judges to kings in the OT of the Bible. “We want a King!”
The problem we have is a dysfunctional Congress that is not performing as Congress is instructed to perform by the Constitution but using it to make the sitting President look bad and in a way use approval of appointments as a means of obtaining unrelated information. This same dysfunctional Congress is responsible for running the Nation and doing a poor job of it.
