Yes, I understand what you were measuring. Do you understand why it was a stupid piece of analysis?

Let me help you out:

The top two states you labeled "red" are indeed "red" states in our modern political parlance, but you're completely ignoring that 43% of Texas voters and 47% of Florida voters supported HRC in 2016. We have no idea if those 135 deaths in Texas were Republicans or Democrats. If the deaths were evenly distributed along the same partisan breakdown as the state, nearly half of them are Democrats. Do you see the flaw in trying to use these numbers as evidence that "Listening to Trump is hazardous to your Health"? What about all the dead people that listened to Cuomo in New York? Was listening to Cuomo hazardous (WAY more hazardous than any other governor in America) to their health?

 

Republican Governors of Texas, Florida and Georgia have opened up the state even as the Virus deaths have skyrocketed

 

"Skyrocketed" to ... a fraction of New York's deaths. If you're trying to tie a state's death totals to decisions by governors, you've got that big, ugly death total in New York hanging like a millstone around your argument's (and Cuomo's) neck. What did he do so terribly wrong to get twice as many deaths as any other state in the Union?

Reading the side of the box that states these mask do not protect you from Covid isn't science. Its commons sense.

I'll be the first to tell you that no controlled studies have ever been able to establish their efficacy in reducing incidence of disease.

 

Its basic math. A mask that has a 3 micron web can't stop a virus that is .03 microns. That doesn't need a controlled study to figure out that these over the counter mask don't do squat to protect you from Corona virus. Thats why they state it on the box. Again, just a little common sense goes a long way.

 

They slow down the water droplets flying out of your mouth. The disease carries through those droplets.

Months and months into this, and people still refuse to educate themselves.

 

They can easily see it for themselves with a simple test but still they deny what they can see with their eyes.

 

They prove it when they speak about it. "Wah.. my mask gets wet when I wear it."

DUH! That's why you are wearing the mask, you covidiot.

 

Then you should work for the mask manufacture since you know so much more than they do. Hence the warning on the box the mask came out of.

 

Sigh. Perfect and good are not enemies.

Locking your door isn't 100% effective. Nor is locking your car.
Wearing a seatbelt is not 100% effective.
Condoms and birth control, not 100% effective.

You use things every day that are not guaranteed to work. You use thousands of things each year that are not perfect, but help you in whatever you are doing.

 

Actually a controlled study would be needed to show that they actually prevent something. One never has to prove that something doesn't do anything.

Now even at 3 microns, the masks catch a significant percentage of droplets, and that's what they hang their hats on. They just don't realize that it doesn't matter. More than sufficient amounts of virus are getting out and they have never been able to demonstrate decreased incidence of disease, the only metric that counts

And those very same water droplets absorb into your mask. You use your hands to adjust, remove, and continually move it around. You are continually touching items that have been through the hands of hundreds.

I guess the declaration from the mask manufacture on the box is only as good as the media you have sworn an oath too.
