Hilariously ironic on a forum filled with fear-mongering, half-truths, faulty data, out of context lies of omission, reflections, deflections, projections, and every fallacy known to man on behalf of LW MORAL PANIC HYPESTERS.

Might even call it... WAIT... JUST NOW... a new LW IRONY UNIVERSE just BANGED into existence!

People with severe COPD, cardiomyopathy, ischemic heart disease, Parkinson's, dementia, quadriplegia, strokes, diabetes, renal failure, liver failure, peripheral vascular disease etc., are all at high risk for death and get knocked off in droves every respiratory virus season.
Don't talk about medicine unless you know what you're talking about.

Maybe they are. As Cuomo asked Trump after Cuomo ignored recommended inventory of ventilators he knew about years ago, who is going to decide who will live and who will die? Tell the FDA to speed it up. Who cares if the better drugs have side effects that will kill 50% of the COVID-19 patients. After all, Democrats have an election to win.

The person who never prescribes drugs, but rather dispenses on behalf of physicians, knows more than them.

Who is "They" if you look at Fauci and anyone else associated with Gates they are looking at vaccines while claiming anything else needs years of clinical trials.

That's a very interesting thought. What will the campaign memes and labels of corona-cowerers and fearmongers be? Probably gonna be some good ones.

A poor outcome was observed for 46 patients (4.3%); 10 were transferred to intensive care units, 5 patients died (0.47%) (74-95 years old) and 31 required 10 days of hospitalization or more.

    4% ICU
    0.47% Fatality in trial patients.

    After reading the abstract:

91.7% good clinical outcomes at 10 days.

46 patients (4.3%) observed poor outcome at 10 days. 10 to ICU, 5 died, 31 required 10 days or more of hospitalization. Among this group, 25 patients are now cured and 16 still hospitalized.

98% of patients cured so far.

In the daily stat thread that STAT keeps up, it's presently at 5.3%. So if we presume that this(and other treatments) can get us a 98-99% success rate, that's pretty damn good. I'll take my odds at maybe being one of the 1/100 group that kicks the bucket.)

Are you suggesting that doctors are withholding treatment of patients just to make Trump look bad?

No it is NOT “pretty darn good”

And a post of a proposed paper on an unverified and unreviewed study is not good medicine

If this is your guide as to how to determine effectiveness of a treatment then by all means go try one of Alex Jones nostrums - after all he claims even better success rates

Why don't you tell us all about "good medicine" versus bad, Doctor... who, Doolittle? Can't wait.

    Evidence based practice

It is what we all use to determine good medicine

    Look it up some time

I think you may need to review evidence based practice. :)

Regardless of this study, one thing is CERTAIN:

There will be No Return to "Normalcy" UNTIL we have a vaccine.

Most likely, that will take until (at least) Summer 2021 at the earliest.

Get used to the Continuing Lockdown.

The "orange man bad" agenda is much more important than saving lives. The more people die the more the Democrats can try to use it as a political issue.

I live and breathe evidence based practice

Why do you think I keep calling for systematic reviews and meta analysis?

Meta-analysis is a quantitative, formal, epidemiological study design used to systematically assess the results of previous research to derive conclusions about that body of research. Typically, but not necessarily, the study is based on randomized, controlled clinical trials.

They've closed their hospitals and offices. Hospitals are empty. No routine medical care is being done. The medical profession is making itself look bad.
