I am ok with the law, since we have the government getting involved in everything anyway and 'woke' is the GOP #1 priority (and maybe the only priority).

They argue its not a federal issue, and they didn't like it that it will result in invasive gender examinations before sports events, which is pretty much the opposite of "protect women and girls".

There are better ways to resolve this issue than writing new federal laws.

This is going to happen eventually. The organizations governing Olympic sports are no longer allowing transwomen to compete with biological women.

Great move by McCarthy to force dims to make a decision on this. pelosi would have just kept it from coming to the floor. Manchin and Sinema already said they're on board. So now the whole country gets to watch joe biden veto this thing.

Right, and schools don't have to do so either. Its really not a Federal issue.

 

Birth certificates. Real girls are females and their certificates of birth prove it.

So, they have to carry those around. The problem is that the trans folks are requesting that to be edited, and BC requirement would rule foreign students out of sports.

Personally I don't think schools should allow trans people to compete, but making this a federal issue is not the right approach. To some people federal government is the answer to everything, but not to me.

This really is bloody simple. Just set criteria for the sports divisions on factors that have nothing to do with male or female, man or woman, and then divide the athletes by that. When you get done, if it is as you say with how trans women are physically superior to cis women, then all the transwomen will end up grouped with the cis men and all the trans men (who are really women according to opponents) will end up grouped with the cis women, and those few cis women who actually can keep up with the men can play with the men. Since the teams will not be divided by any such labels as men or women, there can be no complaining about where trans athletes play from either side.

 

You can't have that if you make the law that people have to use the restroom of their birth sex. That will force post op trans men into women's restrooms.
