That's what a President is for: to solve problems ... It happens I think no one explained this to Obama. I hope someone has told this to Mrs Clinton.
IMO, almost all Presidents serve primarily the interests of the permanent political class. "Never let a crisis go to waste". Problems help raise money and expand central power - they are a win win for politicians.
I share your optimism, but realism tells me that now it's probable she will win [this will mean that all Presidential communications will be stored on a private server ... and that Hillary Clinton library will be really poor ... almost empty!].
Im hoping the next email dump sinks her - - - Updated - - - This is basically what Trump is running against. Its pretty much the only reason to vote for him
Obama is still an incumbent president, and presidents are usually accorded higher favorability in retrospect. As an objective comparison, Obama currently receives 54% approval/43% disapproval in the most recent Gallup Poll. His predecessor was at 32% approval/65% disapproval in USA Today/Gallup's Poll at this stage of his tenure.
He's a symbolic figure. If he was a "she", that is to say a female African American President, her approval would be above 60%.
We can guess what his approval level would be if he were female, White, gay, a 'reality tv' performer, or Jewish, but he's a straight male Christian lawyer of mixed race, and that's what we have to deal with.
LOL, obama is just the 3rd and 4th terms of Bush '43. Look at their actions, they are not nearly that different from each other.
Historian's state one has to wait around 20 years after a president leaves office to give them an accurate rating. This give them time to evaluate how a president's policies effected the nation and it also gives time for the partisanship to die down. So I'll pass on the 1-43 rating. But I will rank him among the presidents I personally experienced. I was born right after WWII, but too young to remember Truman or experience him. The first president I remember was Eisenhower and to this day, he still still ranked as the best president I have ever personally experience. From IKE through Obama, my bottom two presidents or the worst were Carter and Ford. Then would come Bush the second and Obama. So out of the eleven president's I have personally experienced, Obama would be ranked 8th. Below average, but far from a failure. I wouldn't rank any of the eleven president's I personally experienced as a failure.

traitor Bush killed Americans through his lies about WMD - if you killed Americans in that matter everyone would call you traitor
It would be easy to prove that both Gulf wars were deadly errors in Presidential judgement. The evidence that Bush lied is very weak.
Why is everyone so against Obama? Granted he wasn't a great president at all. But what did he do wrong? What did he do that hurt the country? He may not have accomplished much, but its not like he Andrew Jacksoned the country.
The Gulf wars accomplished the following: !. Saved the Gulf states and the KSA from being conquered by a secular tyrant - Saddam Hussein. 2. Removed Saddam H from power and killed him. 3. Installed a corrupt weak pro-Iranian regime in Iraq. 4. Created a power vacuum that permitted ISIS to occupy large parts of Iraq and Syria. 5. Enabled the creation of the Islamic State. Vast amounts of treasure and tens of thousands of lives were sacrificed to accomplish those 5 things. What a damning indictment of US political and military leadership.
Obama has been one of the most powerful effective Presidents in the nation's history. He has dominated political opposition with ease, and has not committed the US to another major war. If his use of special operators, drones and assassination results in the recapture of Mosul before he leaves office he will be remembered as one of our greatest presidents.
it is only those who succumb to the delusion that is right wing political correctness who criticize the President - those who think rationally do no such thing
traitor Bush's lies as shown in that memo caused all that and more[/QUOTE] Both Bushes had a broad sustained bipartisan support for both wars. The entire American political class is responsible for every foolish American military debacle since 1945.
The last three, 2 term presidents are tied for the bottom, worst. For over 20 years, America has gotten into foreign wars and during all that time the top 1% gained more and more of America's stuff. Call it the Age of RepubloCrats. No diff. Nothing to see. Move along.
