I have to ask a serious question to Trump supporters.

What does it say about the policies you support that the politicians you support are desperate to ensure many citizens are unable to conveniently vote in the 2020 election?

I mean, the Republican party has been gerrymandering like crazy over the last 10 years. They work to disenfranchise voters (mostly poor and non-white) from voting by challenging their right to vote, reducing the number of polling places and machines, requiring identification, restricting the right to vote by mail during the pandemic, etc.

Please do not say they are trying to stop voter fraud because voter fraud is so infrequent that is doesn't exist as a serious threat to electoral integrity.

"Politicians at all levels of government have repeatedly, and falsely, claimed the 2016 and 2018 elections were marred by millions of people voting illegally. However, extensive research reveals that fraud is very rare, voter impersonation is virtually nonexistent, and many instances of alleged fraud are, in fact, mistakes by voters or administrators. The same is true for mail ballots, which are secure and essential to holding a safe election amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Brennan Center's seminal report The Truth About Voter Fraud conclusively demonstrated that most allegations of fraud turn out to be baseless and that most of the few remaining allegations reveal irregularities and other forms of election misconduct. Numerous other studies, including one commissioned by the Trump administration, have reached the same conclusion."

Maybe they don't respond to your question because it's not "about the policies" anymore...it's all about Trump

Since they aren't nothing.

Both parties have engaged in so-called "gerrymandering" and the only party that ever tried to disfranchise black voters was the Democrat party. Those cases you are referring to with the number of polling places and machines were Democrat counties run mostly by black Democrats.

And how much voter fraud is acceptable. How much does it take to change the outcome of an election and have serious results?

There is no reason people can't go out and vote.

Gerrymandering, as if that is a bad word. It's required by law.

Going to the polling place to vote is as inconvenient as going to the grocery store. Millions of Americans are doing it. Republicans want everyone who wants to vote to have that opportunity to vote. Those that don't care to vote should not be pressed into voting if they don't want to.

Did you know that the term "gerrymandering" is named for a democrat Elbridge Gerry? This is a practice by both parties. Democrats not only closesd polling places during the pandemic they cancelled or delayed many elections. There is nothing wrong with ensuring the integrity of elections by requiring identification. There is something wrong with allowing people to vote who have not proven they are who they say they are. That opens up the voting system to fraud.

Lastly, there is no right to vote by mail and the validity of all mail in ballots should be challenged.

I disagree with the above assertion. Many elections have been rigged and stolen through voter fraud or other means.

Some research has concluded that millions of illegal voted were cast in those elections. It depends on who's research you want to believe.
If it's safe to go to the grocery store, why is it unsafe to vote in person?
Many studies have concluded that many people are registered to vote in more than one state. Many have said that illegal immigrants are voting in huge numbers. Did the Brennan Center take these studies into account?

Trump is doing everything in his power to prevent people from voting by mail as he, and most of his family has done. During a pandemic, requiring people to congregate to the polls instead of simply mailing their ballot is irresponsible.

Except for the fact that both parties gerrymander when possible, the rest of his statement is completely false.

It is voter suppression, and not non-existent voter fraud that is changing the outcome of elections.

Districting and re-districting is required after the census to apportion representation. Gerrymandering is absolutely not required by law.

It's over. The death rate is not nearly as bad as predicted. People are going back to work and even restaurants are reopening. If you can go out to eat or to the grocery store you can go out to vote.

Bull. Republicans do everything they can to disenfranchise people who they believe will not vote for them. They institute voter-id laws, and restrict the amount of polling sites and machines within those sites to force long lines hoping people (usually poor and/or African American) will forego voting. Now, during a pandemic, Trump is doing everything he can to thwart American voting by mail which would make it far safer for the American people. All this to stop rampant voter fraud that does not exist.

It is a "solution" that prevent mostly poor and/or African American people from voting. It is done to depress the amount of votes cast from people the Republican party thinks will vote against them. There has never been a study that shows that in-person rampant voter fraud is anything other than a bull---t pretext to prevent people from voting.

Why?

Prove it.

Prove it.

First, it isn't necessarily safe to go to the grocery store which is why many people choose to have their groceries delivered (esp. people with underlying conditions). Second, the long lines and huge amount of people at polling places will make it very dangerous esp. in places where Trump supporters refuse to wear masks.

People are sometimes registered to vote in more than one state because they were registered in one state, and then moved to a different state and the first state did not remove them yet. What doesn't happen is people actually voting in more than one state.

And, there have been no studies that have concluded "illegal immigrants are voting in huge numbers." You are creating studies that do not exist.

That's the point. People are not going out to eat and many people get their groceries delivered.

The pandemic is far from over and I can't imagine how any person could even think otherwise. We are still losing over 1,000 people per day and confirmed cases are still about 50,000 per day despite the Trump admin slowing down testing. In the beginning, the experts thought the death rate would be between 80,000 and 120,000. Then they raised it to 120,000 to 150,000. We are over both and some believe we could hit 200,000 by the end of September. And if the fall brings a second wave, the death toll could become even worse.

Parts of the country may be done with covid-19, but all evidence shows covid-19 is not done with the American public.

During a pandemic, the American people should be able to protect themselves and still exercise their right to vote. Trump and his family vote by mail. Why can't mine?

And don't tell me he's too busy to go to Florida to vote. He goes to Florida to golf almost every other week.

The simple fact that the entire response to this virus has been inconsistent is enough to open polling stations.

So, my family has to be put in harm's way because our moron buffoon president has blundered his way through the response to covid-19? Well, that seems fair.

Tell me, why is it people can pile on to a bus with no social distancing and yet a polling station where everyone can easily wait in a line six feet from each other and the facility can easily be cleaned and sanitized continuously is some how deadly.
Why is it prisoners have to be released from jail because they might be exposed to the virus and yet citizens are threatened with jail if they do not obey pandemic protocols.
Why is it we have to wear masks because they stop the spreading of the virus and yet we had to stay home to stop the spreading of the virus? If the masks did their job we could interact responsibly with each other.

I could and would easily provide the proof that you requested. But I find all too often that such efforts are a waste of my time. People are ignorant and willfully so, prefering to stay in that bubble of ignorance. A simple Google search and you can find out the information for yourself. I'm not obligated to do that Google search, provide a link for you to ignore or claim it is false or debunked or provide another #FakeNews articles or studies by partisans designed to keep the willfully ignorant ignorant.

Frankly, I think these numbers are exaggerated. I think that many deaths that were caused by underlying medical conditions were counted as China virus deaths. I think that democrats intentional drove up the number of COVID-19 deaths by tens of thousands by intentionally infecting the elderly in nursing homes and lastly, I believe that many more died that didn't have to because many doctors and governors and big pharma companies caused many deaths by demonizing a very effective hydroxychloroquine treatment because Trump told us it worked.

Democrats aren't mournful about COVID-19 deaths, they are gleeful.

People are avoiding "pil[ing] on buses" which is why everyone who can has decided to work from home. See, during a pandemic, rational people try to avoid any situation where they can be exposed to the virus. When it can't be avoided, people take public transportation. Why force people to go to the polls when there is a perfectly reasonable way for people to both exercise their right to vote and remain safe from the pandemic. And don't say it is because of voter fraud, because people have been using mail in ballots since the civil war and mail in ballots are common in many -- or most states. Why can the Trump family vote safely, but poor families have to take their chances by voting in person?

Masks help prevent the spread. Nothing except a vaccine will absolutely stop the spreading of the virus.

That's all bull. First studies have shown that deaths have been under counted.

The fact you believe democrats would commit murder for political gain tells us something about how your mind works.

Hydrochloroquine is not an effective medicine for either the prevention or treatment of covid-19 despite what Dr. Trump and the Doctor who believes female medical problems are caused by demons would like people to believe.

No, the buses are loaded every day. Standing room only. As are the trains.. Oh and elevators. Why is it okay to use an elevator?

So we should all stay home and stop the economy until there is a vaccine. Brilliant. We'll all be alive but have no country to live in.

Sure. There are tons of peer reviews studies that only you know about yet you find it beneath you to take the time to provide them to the rest of us.

"I'm hearing from a lot of people that three million illegal immigrants voted in 2016 election" is not a valid study proving anything. Even the President's commission on voter fraud found NOTHING.

Well you just stepped in it because the NIH did a report in 2005 about the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine against Corona viruses.

Why did at least 5 Democrat governors against the advice of the NIH guidelines put COVID-19 positive patients into nursing homes? WHY? I would say it was a conspiracy theory but it's not, it's a fact! And why are you still trying to deny people who may die from life saving drugs like hydroxychloroquine? If they are going to die, why not treat them, and treat them early? Nobody has died from hydroxychloroquine but many who could have been saved were denied the treatment.
