The responsibilities of the federal government are what the voters and the SCOTUS deem them to be.

I don’t know heard about this, but there’s a thing called the U.S. Constitution and it lists the “enumerated powers” of the federal government. They are very limited powers.

The Supreme Court has no authority to create laws or impose taxes. Only the legislative branch has that authority and it’s limited.

the income based assessments on part B of medicare is certainly socialist wealth redistribution. we who maxed out on FICA are required to pay 400 + more dollars a month to fund those who fail to pay their share of medicare

We don’t have a balanced budget amendment, so that’s never been tried

LOL!! You lost that absurd argument long ago. Do you pay taxes? If you don't, your income must be really limited to escape notice.

What argument did I lose? That the U.S. Constitution doesn’t place limits on the power of the federal government? Or that the Supreme court is not authorized to create laws or taxation?

So. You admit that there’s never been a federal balanced budget amendment.

Good. I ask because I like roads, highways, national security and federal employees.

Many roads and highways are funded by state and local taxes. Not everything is a federal responsibility.

National security is one of the primary functions of the federal government. Like border security and funding the U.S. military.

Liberals seem to think everything is the responsibility of the federal government. According to the U.S. constitution states have much more authority than the federal government.
