    Radio & TV show host & prolific author, Thom Hartmann, reveals the depth of how useless the Republican party really is, and has been. It would seem this party has no real purpose or social benefit other than to serve the interests of big business, while pretending to do the reverse.

    From The Hartmann Report (Jan 2)

    Wanting smaller govt does often mean wanting govt to do less. ...and thats far more a sentiment of republican voters than it is of the Republican Party.

    To be fair, Republicans have only had Republican House majorities and the president in 10 of those years. One bill every 5 years doesn't sound as bad.
    <snicker>
    And to be fair only 8 of those 10 also had a Republican Senate.
    <snicker snicker>

    When you add deficit spending to the budgets you'll find Democrats have had the smaller budgets, they just believe in paying their bills more.

    PS As to your signature, Alex Jones wasn't banned, he was sued (confronted) and lost in a court of law.

    republicans and democrats are on the same side and interested in only one thing: watching out for themselves.

    What other job in the world can you get where if you get fired after only 4 years (voted out) or whatever their term was, you continue to draw your salary and keep your free health benefits (that are considerably better than what “average” citizens can buy”) for life?

    Anyone?

    Politicians are the problem, not the solution and they have the taxpayers right where they want them, divided and fighting.

    While that's not really true, the fact is that doing nothing is far better than doing the things Democrats want to do.

    Laughable nonsense. Since WWII every president has spent more than his predecessor many more than all there predecessors combined. We don't have a thirty trillion dollar deficit because of Democrats or Republicans we have a thirty trillion dollar deficit because both Democrats and Republicans figured out that spending tax dollars was the easiest way to buy votes. DC is the land of perverse and none are more perverse than the welfare state.

    I should have been more specific. Most of the budget is inherited from the previous years. Democrats reduced deficit spending by not increasing spending as much as tax collections increased. As opposed to the Republican system of reducing tax collections from the very people they then borrowed money from with interest to pay for the debt. Win-win for the uber rich.

    Yeah right Europe's under funded pension crises and below replacement birth rates guarantees financial collapse. Why do you think they are so willing to import all those military age Muslims?

    Well Mr. Hartman the tax cut you malign saw more people join the ranks of the middle class than at anytime since WWII. And that wasn't just Caucasians either.

    China and Japan combined hold 8.3% of US debt. That is not "most".

    If that were true, I would vote Republican. I would love for government to do less.

    Speaking of "useless" a term which describes our entire political system .. one side calling the other out on their worthlessness in a pot calling kettle black back and forth .. is rather useless in of itself.

    That said however - if we wish to plumb the depths of uselessness -- it could be said that it would be better for Red to do nothing- which is in of itself useless - than to do the things it does manage do .. other than serve the interests of "Big Business" just like Blue who pretends to do the reverse.

    This guy has it all wrong. The most restrictive cities and states are ran by democrats. The most murders and crime are in democrat run cities. Most homeless are in democrat cities and states. Those are the shitholes.

    We have subsidized higher education in the form of community colleges, does this this guy want Harvard and Stanford to lower their tuition? We have subsidized healthcare, even illegals get it.

    While we need laws in order to have a civilized society, most of our laws either tell us what we must do, or they tell us what we must not do. In a free society we can make our own decisions as long as they don’t intrude upon the rights of others. In a democrat society they want to ban gas stoves, weed eaters and happy meals.

    He sounds like a real idiot. So, the Dems were whipped by 9 seats and 3 million votes by Do-Nothings? How embarrassing.

    Doing nothing is the clear sign that the ONLY obligation Republicans in Congress feel they have is to get themselves re-elected.
