    Why republicans create all these laws that prevent hypothetical .0005% voting fraud and at the same time do nothing about voting machines of questionable quality and which are supplied in this case by one of candidate's family?

    I'm at a loss here. We have a hypothetical situation being used to somehow try and tie Mitt Romney to vote machine fraud when the purchase of machines must go through an RFP process and technical cook-off

    So, please enlighten me as to how this hypothetical conspiracy all worked out including timelines

    For a group ("conservatives") who see conspiracy behind every closed door it is impossible to understand why they would not see the problems here.

    What if Romney wins Ohio and we find that those machines have been tampered with? Better yet. What if the Democrats beat the Republicans to the punch and tamper first? Republicans can't "tell" because they'd have to admit the backdoors were theirs...

    Is there chicanery afoot (using Romney talk)?

    Don't know but I do know what Republicans would be screaming if the owners of these companies were traced back to George Soros.

    I dislike the concept of voting machines altogether. While it's true that one can shred paper ballots and potentially even get away with that, and that paper ballots are somewhat wasteful, voting machines entire in an entirely new level of problems. Let's be clear. If we can craft a million-line virus that essentially destroys a country's nuclear program and goes undetected for years, how hard could it be for some plucky programmer at Diebold or or Hart Intervic to have a little "snafu" with a machine that goes undetected?

    Last time I checked.......almost if not all the machines used in Ohio have a paper record printed out as soon as you vote.

    Albeit I understand the purpose of the thread.....which is to start making excuses for why the pile of Kenyan Excrement lost in a landslide on Nov. 6

    It's not like the Sleazocrats didn't register THOUSANDS of provisional voters in Ohio in 2008,and then have the then-Sec of State ( fellow Sleazocrat, of course), allow them into the general ballot count UNVETTED, is it?

    Unfortunately the die has been cast. There should be no doubt of the validity but there might be.

    Why would any company that does this type of work allow itself to be drawn into politics and why would anyone with ties to a political campaign invest in this type of company?

    The apparent conflicts are broad and deep and don't bode well for our "democracy."

    And, as noted, if that money were traced to Soros you'd be apoplectic right now.

    what if Obama gets negative votes on these voting machines like happened to Kerry the time they promised Bush the election

    we need to have manual count alonside electronic counts and they need to match

    at the very least counts by two Independence companies electronic system (and the counts of BOTH need to match or we need to know why)

    if people REALLY cared about a honest election... they would DEMAND this
