That may be true, but Catholics in their First Communion confirm their Christianity in a similar way as others. Not sure about Mormons.
I dont' think that's a good argument as Christians have done with Jewish history just as Mormons have done with Christian history.
Simple question - who cares? What possible difference does it make what that empty headed person calls his religion? I could care less if a candidate worships turnips so long as his ideas for governing the country are the best.
Interesting question as IOWA looms.. Cant beat a man's politics ? His economic history..? ATTACK him personally.Especially if your own policies have failed .. Obama playbook.. Huckabee playbook.. and why our nation is failing ...because many are wrapped up into what Religion or how they worship what God ? So IF this was the case..would you elect a Christian who based upon his word..lied and cheated on several wives..cheated on taxes..lied to congress..? So long as he was a certain political party ? ( oops..add she..partners.. ) If a person says one thing and does another Christianity saves them from Gods wrath.. But NOT from the electorate. I /WE a have stronger morality test. or you get more EDWARDS..Clintons..GORES..Bushs..
Mormonism certianly is a cause concern. especially if you beleive in a guy who put rocks in a hat and covered his face with it to read the word of god.
Mormons believe in Jesus they just believe he is a space alien, and one day they will be the god of their own planet, just like Jesus is/was/will be again. Something like that? It's hard to say, they are Mormons. There are a lot more people who think they are Christians, according to the original definition, than there actually is. Most of the people who say they are Christians are doing it for the acceptance of their peers, and financial gain in this life here on earth. They really don’t give a flying fudge brownie what God thinks.
DA60. While "politicians" always get a bad rap, I think what we need is more of them and fewer ideological/religious nut cases who let their own personal beliefs over-ride reality. I will not vote for Mitt because I disagree with his policies and I believe he has changed his "stated" beliefs in order to suck up to the tea PARTY. His recent campaign finance stunt does not fill me with confidence either. I don't care about his religion. If he is not a "christian," given the behavior of the religious right, that may be an actual plus.
They believe in Jesus and they believe he is the son of God and God's only begotten son. Sounds Christian to me. Not like the rest of the Christian sects make (*)(*)(*)(*) up any more or any less.
Satan is said to believe all that, but it doesn't make him a redeemed Christian. Repenting of sin and asking Christ to be your Lord and Savior is what makes you a Christian.
Short answer NO. Just as liberal leftist statists and their National Socialist buddies like Obama and anyone else who adds to or takes away from the Holy Scriptures as read in the KJV are not. That said, I wouldn't vote for Romney though. And that's not because of his Religion either. His religion has nothing to do with it. I wouldn't vote for him because he's a RINO. I wouldn't vote for him, because of his track record while Governor of Mass.
I don't really care. Is he an idiot who has no track record at anything? If not, he's a step in the right direction even if he isn't my choice. Is Barack Obama a Christian, or a Moslem, or is he incapable of conceiving of a being greater than himself? What about Hillary? Arguably the only Democrat with balls but is she a Christian? Or, how about all the reverends on the left. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Rev. Wright. Are they Christians? I hope we elect someone capable and I don't care where they go to church of if they go to church. Just someone who knows how many states we have, has read the Constitution, and can read a teleprompter but doesn't.
It doesn't matter if he is or not. Because Mormonism is a form of Christianity, it gives him more support amongst Christians. And the opposite is true for the "intellectual" type, he loses a lot of support because of his faith.
A Mormon is a Mormon. A Muslim is a Muslim. A Christian is a Christian. A Jew is a Jew. All believe in Jesus Christ as a person. And all follow some simple set of tenents that make that faith unique and its own.
It has a very simple answer. From the Mormon Articles of Faith: They believe in Jesus Christ, and believe in the atonement of Christ. Yes, they're Christians. And if Romney were not a Christian, what would it matter? We're not electing a pastor, you know.
The Mormons 'word of God' is not The Holy Bible, but The Book of Mormon and their 'God' is John Smith who started the religion...... Don't know about the 'rocks in a hat' thing........
Christians are such due to God's grace, not achieving it by doing good works. There's a lot of detail of the scriptures not totally understood perhaps, and God is the final judge.
