…Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis accompanied his wife to her cancer treatment while critics were accusing the governor of taking a vacation as coronavirus cases spiked, Fox News has learned.

A DeSantis spokesperson said the governor accompanied wife Casey to cancer treatment Dec. 29, the day several left-wing critics accused the governor of "missing."

DeSantis' announced in October that his wife had been diagnosed with breast cancer, telling Fox News at the time that as "the mother of three young children, Casey is the centerpiece of our family and has made an impact on the lives of countless Floridians through her initiatives as first lady."

These complaints about DeSantis were not warranted. Now they who engaged in it deservedly have egg on their faces. The Governor most certainly should have been with his wife while she was getting treatment for her cancer. Democrats know no low when it comes to things like this.

 

I hope everything is well on their end now.

Remember when Newsom went missing, didn’t go to a global warming summit and claimed he was trick or treating with his kids? The left wing media didn’t touch that story because when he went missing he had just taken a China virus booster.

Because it was their hostility and intolerance of Trump and his supporters that dehumanized the political process.

 

Since when do 2 wrongs make a right? And is playing the victim all that those on the left know how to do?

I hope for the best in his wife’s treatment.

I suppose the saying one death is a tragedy but a million is a statistic still holds true though. The criticism still holds. Once he decided to become a public servant he had a responsibility to lead. And if he didn’t lead when his state needed him? It doesn’t matter why. People still got sick and died. We can sympathize with him but he still has a moral duty to lead.

 

And there was nothing he could do about those deaths.

Sometimes being a leader means knowing when to step aside to let the workers do thier thing. I'm no expert but at this point in time there's really nothing he can do himself. The foundation of his policies is already lain so taking a few days to take care of his wife is actually a good thing as it let's things settle and time is given to see if those policies are going to work or if changes are needed. Additionally it's not like he was unreachable if some emergency popped up requiring his attention.

 

The problem for him is his political association with a senator from Texas who flew to Mexico after weather knocked out electricity and heating at home. When spotted all of a sudden he was just accompanying the kids to get them safely there and flew back. Uh huh, yep, sure thing. Due to that incredibly egregious behavior all will be marked the same for some time if they aren't open rather than secretive.

The moral of the story, don't do stupid things and don't use your media person to cover your percieved negligence and insensitivity, especially if you are innocent.

 

Well, at least he didn’t go Gingrich on her.

 

I guess he’s not doing too bad in his state given that AOC went down there for a vacation and was engaging without a mask.
