DeSantis is smart! And I really do believe that he 'read the tea leaves' and determined (as I already have) that the 2024 is going to be a fairly easy victory for Democrats. And, NO, I'm not a bit happy about it, BUT, I'm a realist -- as I suspect that DeSantis is also. For all Republicans, 2024 is "a dry hole", as they say in the oil field business....

It was witless, oblivious morons like Supreme Court Justice Alioto who destroyed Republican hopes in 2022 of being able to establish a strong majority in the House, and, to be able to take back the Senate. Why? Because of the idiotically insane decision to attack Rove v Wade, which had been settled law for FIFTY YEARS! All this did was enrage females of many different political stripes in the ranks of Republican and Democrat parties -- and they took it out on Republicans in the 2022 elections.

And now? Well it's already totally clear that Democrats intend to leverage the "abortion" vote as much as possible, as well as all the voter mechanisms involving more enormous welfare programs, giveaway of student loans, 'subsidies', and handouts.... Republicans will nominate Trump -- and LOSE. You heard it here first! (Disclaimer: I'm a a pissed-off, unaffiliated, mostly-conservative Independent).

He also completely lacks likable characteristics, which is why I’m thoroughly happy not to see him again now.

Well of course. Haley is a throwback to Bushism.

Oh yah you remember how much we loved him lol
She just seems like she won’t break laws or try to steal the election if she loses. Might actually try to be a uniter and not a divider.

I don’t know. It’s your party. You are mentally superior to me since I am a conservative knuckle dragger. You need to find a candidate. Of course you can’t do that unless it’s the official Democrat Party choice. In the Republican Party, you can oppose Trump. In your party, you can’t oppose Biden without permission.

GA case is going to get delayed - with a risk of the indictment getting thrown out
The federal cases will wind up not going to trial pre-election

So, the fantasy that he will be convicted is just that
I despise Trump, but the dems have spent 3 years desperate to take him out of the picture, when all they had to do a decent job running the country and he would fade away

Odds remain, Trump will win, and the dems will have no one to blame but themselves

Biden does not have any charisma, Biden can’t even give a speech without making mistake or can’t remember which state he is in. Biden even have hard time climbing up the stage. When he is on the stage , he doesn’t even know how to get off the stage.

No wonder Biden lost twice when he ran for WH. Biden lost to Michael Dukakis in 1988. In 2008 against Obama, Biden didn’t have a chance.

Yet, in 2020 Biden won against Trump by 8 million vote. You see where I am going with this. Biden is the worse politician in Democratic side, yet with trump , Biden mopped the floor, campaigning from basement. Can you imagine what Biden will do to Trump in 2024 when Biden fly around the county in air force one, pass bill as he chooses, keep US government open or close at his will.

I quite enjoy the strange new respect Haley is getting from leftoids.

It's amusing. And if she actually won the nomination, you would be calling her Indian Hitler in no time.

I thought Desantis was a shoe in to win in 2028. Let the chips fall where they may in 24, then run in 28. I especially think he would be a guaranteed win in 28 if biden wins in 24. 4 More years of biden pretty much guarantees a republican win in 28 and he'd be the clear front runner.

I think we realize what we had when it was normal republicans running. Even these discussion forums were so different back then. Way less conspiratorial nonsense.

    Sure.

If memory serves, Biden won in 2020.

And you don't let a criminal go free.

    91 charges in 4 trials.

4 Grand Juries voted to indict Trump and at least 50 of his associates.

A dozen have already pleaded guilty and will testify against Trump.

There is also a star witness in the 1/6 trial: Mark Meadows.

Do you know who he is?

so you think the supreme court should base its ruling on how it might help a particular party? I think Trump is a bad candidate btw and would prefer Haley but I will vote for Trump over any democrat

truth-the democrats howled that GHWB wouldnt' compromise with the the Democrats. he then did on guns and taxes. the Democrats then hammered him for changing his positions. and many of us didn't vote for him and he lost. Democrats have no consistency other than to say what is ever needed to try to win

And you post this nonsense when your candidate yells “I am you retribution!”.

    Got it. Well, actually not.

The accusation is Donald Trump stole documents he didn't.

So when you accuse someone of something they didn't do yes that's false accusation.

So he didn’t have docs and refuse to return them when given a court order to do so?
