    What an incredibly warped analogy.

Cause the GOP has done so much to help the citizens of this country over the past 50 years right? Have they made the tax burden for every man woman and child easier, or harder to pay down? Have they actually fixed the school system? Have they kept us safe from terror attacks? Have they taken more power for themselves, or given power back to the citizens?

I really would expect the battered spouse to see the light the first try, so maybe you can actually think about these situations and realize that a minor tax break is the beating spouse coming home with flowers and candy saying sorry for breaking your arm so you will take them back. But a month later, the beatings start again.

Great analogy. Right on the money. But I think it goes further than that. I see an old man in Paul who realizes that at his age his daze of being a congressman are over and so he's putting forth his last shot at a 15 minute of fame spotlight to go out in a somewhat appealing or honorable fashion before the reality sets in that he just wasted everyone's and his own time during the process.

......even as you are primed to grant a complete corporatist whore of the political system at least four years of fame

IMO, anyone that thinks that Romney is significantly different then Obama is just not looking at the facts with a clear mind.

They will both over spend like MAD, tax too much, spend WAY too much on the military, start/continue too many conflicts overseas, get too many Americans (and innocent civilians) killed in these conflicts, deny too many people their rights in the name of 'patriotism', continue the corporatism that runs Washington, make the rich richer, the poor more dependent on handouts, the middle class poorer and edge America ever closer to bankruptcy.

America is heading for the relative abyss...and all most people seem to be able to argue about is which party should be behind the wheel as they fail to notice the cliff approaching.

Yeah...they can smile as they go over the edge.

    Partisan politics is destroying America.

You only have to look at this forum to see the evidence.
