Reference https://theliberalgunclub.com/about-us/root-cause-mitigation-2/' Who among my pro-gun friends disagrees with the idea we should look at the causes of gun violence -- the reason why people do what they do -- and not the symptoms - the methods they use -- in out efforts to reduce said violence I was told we ignorant gun owners would rather scream about liberals trying to ban guns than consider this, and there's no evidence that we consider it at all. http://www.politicalforum.com/index...94-federal-awb-worked.541861/#post-1069627162 http://www.politicalforum.com/index...94-federal-awb-worked.541861/#post-1069627195 What do you say?
Ultimately it is humanity itself that is the problem. Humans as a species are wired at all levels of existence, be it physically, mentally, even spiritually, to kill itself off through whatever means available, be it either themselves through suicide, or others through homicide.
since government and criminals have guns, absolutely. If you could guarantee criminals would be completely disarmed by your anti rights suggestions, you might have a point
They would also have to guarantee that criminals would be unable to harm us without guns. We already see how that's working out in the UK.
Some of us but not many. That's the problem with the 2nd Amendment, it includes the bulk of the population.
Since there is no way of preventing the species from either acquiring or producing lethal weapons, legally or illegally, there is no logical point in attempting to restrict and prohibit such. It will ultimately do nothing to address the underlying violent nature of humans as a species, it will not slow them down in their demonstrations of violence and killing, nor will it even serve to slow them down in their quest to kill off themselves and others. It is nothing more than an exercise in futility, frantically engaged in by those who are desperate to pretend that they are not the same violent creatures they seek to restrict for their own well being, and that a homicidal species can somehow be reasoned with.
The best way for the physically weak to protect themselves against the physically strong is by use of firearms. It's not coincidental that the rise of democracy came about not long after the invention of the useful firearm.
and since 99% of those who legally own firearms, never misuse them, I don't see the problems the gun banners or restrictionists do
"Americans are not more violent than people in other developed countries. But they have more deadly weapons to act out their rage, and that’s the only main variable that you see between the U.S. and these other countries." - Barack Obama Easy access to guns does make a very deadly difference.
Barack Obama did not know what he was talking about during his tenure as president of the united states, and he does not know any better now that he is out of office.
As proven by the fact that the US murder rate, taking out the guns, is still 50-200% higher than most of Europe.
unlike you I trust honest American citizens-the ones who won WWI and WWII and made this nation the greatest in the world. I am fortunate, I come from a family that has been wealthy since about the time the constitution was signed but I trust the poor, the middle class, the the rich, doctors, ditch diggers, blacksmiths, burger chefs, truck drivers, golf caddies and CPAs to own guns and I trust the good people of this country more than the government and certainly more than leftwing elitists who think only people like them should be able to own firearms
many of them claim to love mankind in general while hating people as individuals (credit to Richard Sapir)
Of course most of the elites in this country have been Republican, true Republican like me, not like the Trumpesque, Gingrichesque, or evangelicals, that have invaded the GOP in the last 35 years.
