That's where enlightened, tolerant, progressive liberal Democrats live, and have fun.

You're not talking about the times of KKK? They were Democrats, and have moved to the cities since then.

I grew up on a farm in northeastern Ohio and have spent most of my adulthood living in rural Colorado. I am pretty sure that rural Boulder County is and was more liberal than the city. I noticed that your examples are of those who came to retire, not to work. It was always the dilemma. Live a nice natural setting, or move to the city and make a lot of money. 20 miles out, tucked in the mountains no less, was a nice compromise.

    1. ALASKA with24.5 deaths per 100,000 citizens.
    2..ALABAMA with 22.9 deaths per 100,000 citizens.
    3.MONTANA with 22.5 deaths per 100,000 citizens.
    4.LOUISIANA with 21.7 deaths per 100,000 citizens.
    5.MISSISSIPP{I with 21.5 deaths per 100,000 citizens.

Colorado used to be a beautiful state until liberals from California and other states moved in in droves, and screwed it up.

Hate to break the news to you, but typically the closer to the city core, the nicer and more expensive homes become. When one looks at the statistics across a typical city, the poorest housing areas tend to be around the industrial areas, and that is where most of the crime occurs. Poor people squashed together in substandard housing in a bleak environment. While on the other side of town, near the shopping and financial districts, urban sophisticates live in cultural luxury.

Large being relative since none of those states have a city with over 400,000 citizens.

There are many here, myself included, who do work. We have a well-known University less then 10 miles away, and another 30-35 miles away. Many come here for the cost of living, and have excellent jobs. We have a top-notch medical facility maybe 40 miles by highway.

We likely have a good share of retirees, as the climate is moderate, the environment is nice, the people are friendly, and there is no State income tax.

You should read the Colorado Constitution some time. Colorado was the first state to give women the right to vote. The first to officially prohibit Jim Crow types of laws. You should also know, that it was the Focus on the Family crowd moving to Colorado that brought conservative Californians to Colorado, making Colorado more conservative at about the same rate that California became more liberal. Don’t forget that Nixon and Reagan came from California. But you know, the Front Range, from Castle Rock to Fort Collins, is one of the greatest technological centers in the country, and the world. Bill Owens and his conservatism wasn’t about to last.

The largest city in Montana is only around 100,000 and in Mississippi, around 150,000.

For example, Anchorage, Jackson, Biloxi/Gulf Port, Billings. The murder rate tends to be higher within those urban areas.

I was born and raised in rural New Hampshire that used to be a totally Republican state until the democrat voting folks from northeastern Taxachusetts decided to move to the most populated cities of no-sales-tax-free southern NH to avoid paying their state's high taxes. The problem here was that these new liberal transplants decided to keep voting democrat, and thus, NH became run by democrat politicians in most of it's higher offices. So this devastating move by liberals from Tax Haven Mass to tax free NH kind of mirrors what happened in Colorado--they screwed it up in so many ways.
