Two weeks ago he said he wouldn't invade Ukraine.
This is the guy who sends drug cheats to the Olympics
and kills Russian journalists
and assassinates popular opposition leaders
and gradually shuts down Russian freedoms
and developes all the things he said he wouldn't develope - intermediate missiles, thermobaric bombs, cluster bombs,
chemical weapons, anti-satellite tech and cyber warfare. But at least he was honest when he said he would develope
underwater nukes that could kill millions of Americans with a nuclear tsunami.
And he was honest when he said half of Russia's hospitals dont' have running water - he himself has gold plated toilets
in his mansions - on his $125,000 salary.

 

Zelensky has said that further talks with could only be possible after the evacuation of civilians. Then this happens.

The original point of comparison was people being threatened with 15 years jail in Russia for publishing stories the state does not like. I know people who have been banned from FB & twitter and I know people who have been jailed for their opinions. The fact that you are trying to compare the two is all anyone needs to know about your perspective.

As I said, you don't seem to have much of an issue with actual repression when it comes from someone you agree with.

 

YOU handled Cuba with threat of all out Nuclear War - and after perceiving
the Red Line impasse the US at that time wisely choose to back-off - listened
to reasonable Russian Security Concerns, and in a tit4tat move, withdrew
the US Jupiter Nuclear Missiles from Turkey and Catastrophe was averted

This time the US unwisely chose to Ignore and even ridicule Russia's
legitimates concerns and NOW Humanity stands at the edge of the Abyss

I am glad how accurately you described yourself. I could not agree more.

 

Putin has badly miscalculated his ability to carry this off. There was no justification for this invasion and the whole world has taken a stance. Now he threatens nuclear war but that too would be a miscalculation. I suspect he's looking for a way out now without total disgrace for Russian power.

 

OK. I play along. What is shocking? The so called western media declared the war on Russia, the so called western world declared the economic war on Russia etc...What do you expect them to do? Reverse the situation. It would be exactly the same. In case of the war, different rules apply. The western countries declared the information war on Russia. They are responding in their own ways.

 

Either that, or we are just getting a sugar coated view of the battle front - with Russia prepared and able
to fight off the economic sanctions. But I doubt it.

I’ve seen many videos of Russian choppers going down so far.

 

But you have to admire the footage. They caught it dead center of the frame as they were filming. Couldnt have been better if they had set it up. What luck!!

 

I have only seen a couple myself, but there sure a lot of videos of ruined and captured Russian tanks and other vehicles!

 

Stingers hit helicopters "at altitude". It drives them into NOE (Nap Of the Earth) flight, bobbing and weaving among the trees and rocks. Stingers aren't good when the helos are NOE, there is a thing called "ground clutter" where the heat from the ground confuses the Stinger seeker head. But that's fine. When a helicopter is NOE it is vulnerable to every enemy weapon on the ground. Helicopters are fairly delicate as things go. Small arms can take them out if they are driven low by the Stingers.

 

I don't know, I haven't seen any evidence that he is in Kyiv either. He must be somewhere. Let's ask Psaki.
