I was a soldier for 8 years and took the same oath.

I also know that being in the military isn't really anything special. There are millions of veterans, some of them are good people, some of them are garbage people. Just like in the "civilian" world. I do seem to find that people who bring up their military service as if it makes their opinions more valuable, are usually garbage people.

 

Was all this talk about supplying more Falcon missiles and RPGs to Ukrainian forces all talk?

 

I was thinking the other side as they have forces pressing from that way but I might be wrong, just would be bad if they had a destroyer or something of that nature get hit by an anti-ship missile. Not like we would be surprised as wreckless as they have been at this point if they just dumped them in front of the city LOL.

 

I've been a little surprised at the Russian tactic, I think they used a "soft" approach, attack some of the more obvious Ukraine military targets, try to leave infrastructure mostly intact, and send in ground troops to occupy, hopefully without much resistance. I fear that the "hard" approach may follow, destroy infrastructure, try to force the will of the Ukrainians. Hopefully, cooler heads will win out.

 

America is TEAM... it was Americans that accomplished al those things... my team. And my best friend is a native of India. He came here as a child as now one of the principal scientists in DARPA... so yes... they do immigrate.

 

The "red" areas seem to lay across the main axis of advance, however, most Russian units are confined to or near main roads. The "red" areas just seem to have been filled in by linking the territory between these roads; the areas beyond these roads are not actually controlled by the Russians. I think the best fit would be to colour in the roads and a distance of perhaps 5 miles either side of the road (presumably this would take in the flanking units). I doubt very much that this maps shows the real picture i.e. the actual areas under Russian control.

 

This is what happens when you fire the President's son from his $89K/month no show job. He throws you to the wolves.

Judging from what I see being posted by my numerous former classmates and friends in Ukraine, it looks like the entire country is having a real life scenario like in the movie The Purge - murder is openly encouraged by the government, mass media, celebrities, and influencers. Open calls for revenge killings. Former high school crash cheering to pictures of charred corpses of Russian troops. Friends who were never militaristic grabbing guns and expressing desire to go and kill.
After this is done, I don’t know how Russia will live with a neighbor where civilian population is full of so much hate. I just don’t see how Pootin can impose his puppet government without having weekly Maidans.

 

It has already moved to that, they are going to bomb and artillery before storming now and it is the reality on the ground for the besieged cities(They are getting hammered). The progress at this point is not as bad as people are making out. Wars of this size are not won in a week, lots of square miles have been taken and they are at the capital city.

That's true, but the areas of control mostly mean for the most part free from conventional military presence. They may not control a city for instance, but conventionally and militarily do if their is no opposing conventional military presence there.

 

Pretty sure over 90% of the people who serve in the military get an honorable discharge.

I'm starting to wonder if you were even in the military, your knowledge seems to be limited to things that you believe pump up your importance.

They do not control major cities. The map is misleading because it shows mainly areas with low population density. Russia claims Kherson, but there is street fighting right now.

 

Not sure it matters if there is no conventional military presence there. Its just unoccupied territory, it would be unoccupied military territory if there are enemy conventional forces there.

 

Anyone watch Zelensky's press conference just now? This guy is amazing.

 

Who knows what remains of defenses? I'm sure the Russians also have good defenses on and around their naval forces, at least. It's notable that the Ukrainians have been unable to attack them so far despite their vicinity.

 

Oh yeah, he will be in the history books worldwide.
