El Vino's in my banking days was a regular lunch time haunt. The bottles of Claret consumed there was shocking...

Yazverg, it appears that you have come into contact with what disgusts me about the egotistical and maniacal mentality that has been prevalent in these United States for such a long time until it is actually becoming worse like any untreated disease. If a person who has cancer does not partake in treatment(s) to limit said cancer, tot impede the disease, it soon becomes critical. Has the egoistical mentality become critical in the United States of America? This remains to be the question.

King of what? I take it you must be Russian. Revealing that you think a hypersonic nuke makes you king of anything.

If it was possible to have a look at my very first posts here, you would find that I came with this idea in times long before the crisis. I started in the threads about philosophy, rights of men etc. And when I came quite agitated with the risks of quite possible big war - NOONE believed me.

I don't say that Russia is the best country. I personally love my country the most and it is natural. I see that Russia has the same kind of disease and it hasn't gone that far only because we haven't developed that long according to liberal patterns. I see that propaganda is making the Russians to form just the same attitude towards western people as I largely see from the western people towards Russians. This is completely wrong! I personally got acquainted to lots of western people whom I would rather call friends of mine. I believe in their abilities and respect their differences. Unfortunately I haven't met them for quite a long time and this faith sort of is fading out. I needed a feedback. So thank you for your posts for returning my faith in humanity. :)

Vozdeystviye obsuzhdeniya voprosov, tem i prichin vyzyvayet dopolnitel'noye ponimaniye mezhdu lyud'mi. Eto klyuch k miru i sotrudnichestvu v gumanitarnykh delakh. daleko ot menya, chtoby zayavit', chto ya sovershenen, poskol'ku eto otnositsya k drugim, no dlya menya ya sovershenen i stanovlyus' boleye sovershennym so vremenem. YA ne khochu utomlyat' vas filosofiyey. , , :)

The impact of discussing issues, topics and causes brings further comprehension between people. This is the key to peace and cooperation in human affairs. far be it from me to state that I am perfect as it relates to others, but for me, I am perfect and becoming more perfect in due course of time. I do not want to bore you with philosophy . . . :)

Philosophy is not boring. It's gymnastics for the brains. The very concept of being perfect have a long philosophical history covering the nature of God with Christian, bhuddist and lots of other religious concepts as well as non-clerical ideologies from antique gedonism to newest concept of fascism. All these systems have at least one perfect man..., but always away from the actual speaker. For me the words: "I am perfect" is equal to "I am dead". :) And the expression of 'becoming more perfect' is just senseless. How can a perfection become more perfect? Perfection doesn't have any room to improve.
But again, I would gladly continue and even start off in private messages. Whenever you find time and mood for that - feel welcomed.

Perfection is in stages. Perfection deals with person, ability, knowledge, application of knowledge and ability, which is why there is no end to perfection because there is no end to knowledge. Both are life, and death, depending on usage. Yang and Ying, 360 degrees; Circle in a Square. Death comes when we are no longer able to sustain physical existence, which also applies to knowledge as well. Life is interconnected as well as solitary.

Perfection comes in stages. In zygote form, there is perfection dependent fitness of sperm and ovum. In embryonic form there is perfection, dependent upon the same conditions. In Fetus form there is perfection, dependent upon the same conditions plus in gestation of the mother; what mother consume into her body. In infant form there is perfection, dependent upon outer environmental factors. So on and so forth. I am not as strange as I seem on the face.

As I told you, I do not want to bore you with prose and offshoots of pondering.

Can they prevent American missiles from showering Leningrad and Moscow with thermonuclear warheads?

If not then I guess MAD still applies.

Why couldn't it be shot down with a laser?

I bet it is. We could heat up icbms in their booster phase with oxy-iodine lasers enough to crumple them from 180-300 miles away (depending on missile type) way back in the 80s.

No way has the tech not progressed.

Well, missile altitude is within range.
    I guess it is possible.

That’s an awfully long sentence from someone who doesn’t respect that constitution.

The only reliable deterrent we have to nuclear war is the same one we've had since the 1960's -- Mutual-Assured Destruction (MAD). If Putin is right, he can destroy several big American cities... and very shortly after that, we would destroy several big Russian cities.

The old saying comes to mind, "The more things change, the more they remain the same...." :lonely:
