The U.S. is really P!$$ED OFF that Putin broke the DEAL.

If we...the U.S. did not pay Billions of Dollars to purchase and then destroy all those Old Soviet Weapons in the Ukraine and Georgia and in other former Soviet States....THOSE UKRAINIAN WEAPONS WOULD BE POINTED AT MOSCOW RIGHT NOW!!!

And if these weapons still existed Putin would have never DARED invade the Ukraine and Annex the Crimea!!!

The breaking of this DEAL with the United States IS A BIG FREAKIN' DEAL!!!

The U.S. might supply support and weapons to the Ukraine but it is the current U.S. Economic pressure that is going to force Putin to get out of the Ukraine.

Some people dodn't think this will happen....but it will....sooner or later.

We NEVER thought in a Million Years that any Russian Leader would do what Putin has done because only a FOOR or an IDIOT would break a deal with the United States knowing full well that by invading the Ukraine the United States would effectively destroy the Russian Economy.

What we didn't take into account was a Russian Leader like Putin not caring what effect this would have upon the Russian People.

Putin cares about only ONE THING....remaining in POWER.

Putin fears that the moment he either leaves or is forced out of Power this will result in his imprisonment or death.

Thus Putin will do whatever is necessary to keep himself in power and alive.

We in the United States did not think it was possible for a Leader of an Entire Nation to place their own benefit above the Millions of People in their own Nation they lead.

Most Leaders would do the right thing and place the good of the people above their own well being.

    Not Putin.

But Russia and the Russian Economy cannot survive against current U.S. Economic Pressure.

Crimea was all about Natural Gas.

The Ukraine hired American Natural Gas Exploration Teams to do test drilling in the Crimea to determine the amount of Natural Gas in the Crimea as the Ukrainian's did not trust the Russian Natural Gas Exploration Teams that told the Ukrainian's that there was not enough Gas in the Crimea to warrent full scale drilling.

The U.S. Teams determined that there was over 1000 Times more Natural Gas Reserves in the Crimea than the Russian Natural Gas Exploration Teams had previously determined.

Now it is not clear if the Russian Gas Teams were either just simply inept at their jobs or if they purposely withheld the discovery of large natural gas reserves in the Crimea but what we do know is that PUTIN was worried that the Ukrainian's could with the help of Highly Advanced American Natural Gas Drilling Teams.....that the Ukraine could with U.S. help quickly tap into these Crimean Gas reserves then using their own Ukrainian Natural Gas Pipeline....undercut Russian Natural Gas Prices to Europe and thus replace Russia and thus the Ukraine would become Europes #1 Supplier of Natural Gas.

Putin feared this even though this would have been completely legal for the Ukraine to sell their own Natural Gas CHEAPER THAN RUSSIA using their own Pipeline to Europe.

THAT is why Putin invaded the Crimea.

It was all about Natural Gas.

"In a joint press conference between Putin and Turkish leader Erdogan, the Russian said that the supply of Russian gas to Turkey will be raised by 3 billion cubic meters via the already operating Blue Stream pipeline, Last year, 13.7 bcm of gas was supplied to Turkeyvia Blue Stream, according to Reuters.

And another fringe benefit of becoming a preferred Russian ally: Moscow will reduce the gas price for Turkish customers by 6 percent from January 1, 2015, Putin said. Later, Novak said the discount could reach 15 percent, subject to negotiations. Sorry Ukraine.

And sorry Bulgaria, which despite being wholly reliant on Russian gas for its commercial, industrial and residential needs, has decided to side with the sinking European Union, making it merely the latest insolvent vassal state of the sinking Eurozone, something Putin made abundantly clear during today's conference:

PUTIN: BULGARIA UNABLE TO ACT AS SOVEREIGN STATE OVER GAS LINK
PUTIN: RUSSIA TO REORIENT ENERGY RESOURCES TO OTHER MKTS: IFX

Bulgaria should now expect its gas costs to boldly go where Ukrainian energy prices have so boldly gone before.

As for Turkey, the country that bridges Europe with Asia is merely the latest expansion of Putin's anti-dollar alliance:

TURKEY, RUSSIA AGREE TO USE LOCAL CURRENCIES IN TRADE: TRT

Or, as Obama would put it, Russia just got even more "isolated."

Understand that Russian's have been under the control of DICTATORS for centuries.

First it was the Czars.....then the Communists.....now Putin.

Russian's still have not gotten used to being able to speak their own minds and express their own opinions and THEY STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN USED TO DOING THIS....as Putin has taken over the Russian Media and Putin KILLS those people who speak out against what Putin is doing.

My Russian Friends tell me they would NEVER publically speak out against Putin or any of his Buddies because they tell me if they did they would either end up in Prison or end up DEAD.

As well the Russian People are a PROUD People and they are still upset with the collapse of their Nations power even if they are happy the Soviet Union collapsed.

Because of this when Putin gives speeches and blames the United States for Russia's problems....well HELL....no one likes to admit their problems exist because of the MISTAKES THEY MADE.....so it is easier and more popular to blame the U.S. for Russia's Problems rather than blame THEIR OWN LEADERS!!

The thing is there is ZERO CHANCE that the United States would ever attack Russia and it is laughable beyond belief when Putin talks about some insideous plan by the U.S. to INVADE RUSSIA!! LOL!!

I mean...why the HELL would we ever want to invade Russia??

The ONLY way that the U.S. Military would ever be used against Russian Forces is if Russian Forces were to invade a NATO Member or attack U.S. Forces.

    Well think about it.

Why would those Russian's say ANYTHING against Putin's rule when they know everyone who has in the past has either been arrested or killed?

Mariupol has unfortunately been chosen as a TARGET OF CONVENIENCE by Putin as large numbers of Russian Tanks and Troops are shelling the city in a direct violation of the Minsk accords.

This is not about Ukranian Forces in Mariupol being a threat to Russia or a threat Russian Speaking Ukranian's but rather Putin has chosen Mariupol as an easy target to demonstrate Russian Military power to the U.S., European's and Ukrainian's.

Putin is doing what he is doing....BECAUSE HE CAN....as U.S. Economic pressure further degrades the Russian Economy to a point this is the equivelent of a CHILD THROWING A TEMPER TANTRUM after being punished.

The Child is put in the corner and decides to break Mom's lamp as an act of defiance.

    It really is sickening.

tsarev said that Mariupol will fed Donbass whole winter , but i dont buy it, its far away from corridor plans too. my guess Putler tries to knock the Ukrainian state out with such brutal assault. if Ukrainians could stop him 2 times with old soviet junk from 50-60th, what they could do with new American weaponry...?

We have not yet come to a point that the U.S. would be directly suplying the Ukraine with advanced American Weapons but if we did it's obvious such weapons would do great damage to the Russian Military and there in exists the problem.

As it is now we have a chance where Putin's own supporters will get fed up with a devestated Russian Economy and either force Putin to deal or force Putin out of office.

But if large numbers of Russian kids start coming home to Russia in Body Bags at the hands of American Weapon supplied Ukrainian's.....the Russian people will turn on the U.S. and Ukraine.

We still have a chance to get rid of Putin and we are going to try doing it with Economic sanctions first.

We are VERY close to making this happen.

Actually it was Bulgaria that lost the South Stream pipeline deal to the benefit of Turkey who also decided at the same time that having all their military capabilities under control of US technology was a bad idea. Part of the deal was for Turkey to purchase their defense systems from China. OppsieDaisy. Another sanction backfire.
    http://thebricspost.com/russia-turkey-sign-energy-power-deals/#.VNIHHy6_SSo
“In 2014, we plan to start building the maritime section of the South Stream pipeline in Turkey’s exclusive economic zone,” Putin announced.

Russia’s state-owned nuclear company Rosatom is building Turkey’s first nuclear power plant, Akkuyu, with a capital investment of $20 billion.

Putin also indicated that the two sides would step up military technology cooperation.

Turkey has no long-range missile defence system of its own despite having the second-largest deployable military force in the NATO alliance.

In September, Turkey had announced its decision to buy a $3.4 billion missile defense system from a Chinese company, a decision heavily criticized by the NATO and US officials.

US officials have said the deal would reduce Turkey’s ability to coordinate missile defense activities with NATO and the US."
