They were trying to buy time, to investigate, prove their position, and hopefully get state legislatures to change their mind.

The problem with the way the U.S. Presidential election is set up, is that almost as soon as each state-wide election is done, the states send their electors off to the Electoral College to vote based on the popular vote in their state election. But what happens when there are allegations or suspicions of possible fraud?
Once the Electoral College votes, the election is over. Too late to recount votes in any state.

 

Yeah, trump told Mr. Bowers that he had evidence of fraud in the AZ election. When Mr. Bowers asked to see it trump told Rudy to get it to him. The irony in what you write is that you reverse two things: investigate and prove their position.

You investigate when you have proof of something.

But there wasn't any.

Their position was simple: to stay in power.

When a lame duck POTUS calls an elected state official to prevent the certification of an election and replace the real certificates with fakes, that's a crime.

Trump will be tried for this in Georgia, he should suffer the same in Arizona.
