" Biden has pledged a staggering 700% increase in refugees from the most dangerous and violent terrorist hot spots on earth. He has also vowed to terminate our national security travel bans, allowing for unlimited migration from war zones, and terrorist havens. " https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1322333348333674496 These are the same people who claim they care about safety, as the justification for supporting lots more gun control. We've already seen the connection in the past between immigration policy and rising crime rates, which are then used as justification for taking away more individual liberties and criminalizing more things. In the state of California, for example, at least in the 90s, nearly half of the gun homicides were committed by rival gangs engaging in suburban turf wars against each other, most of these gang members being offspring of immigrants from other foreign countries. This was used as justification for a massive gun control push in the state. It seems like there is maybe an inherent trade-off here. We can't have both.
They don't care about safety; they care about power. I grew up in Los Angeles and know what it is like to fear for my life.
Guns aren't going anywhere unless a new administration becomes stupidly bold. I feel like that was meant to reassure the Bernie voters and attack Trump disingenuously. In reality, Biden would need a constitutional amendment which means he can't have it due to the legislative complexion. Had Democrats actually had a wave of wins, then maybe that would be feasible, but it would still spark a serious conflict.
Trump's right about that. Both strict immigration and gun control policies are needed. I am pro-safety.
