They do tend to be more skeptical. The result is we have more "low information" ignorant and gullible folks on the GOP side, and more "poor information" gullible and ignorant folks on the DNC side.

I don't think the distinction between most folks in the two parties is intelligence. Both sides have folks working off of bad data, making bad decisions.

When was the last time a Federal budget was SMALLER than the year before under Republican control of Congress?

Not "talked about it" or "promoted it" or "had plans for it"....but actually DID it. You know, actual accomplished it rather than just threw out a bunch of phony promises?

We did it in 1995 under Gingrich.

The Federal Budget in 1995 was smaller than 1994???

No, not "less than the PROJECTED size"....was it ACTUALLY smaller?

I did not complain about Reagan tax cuts although taxes were much higher under Reagan than Bush. I did not state that the Dems were "fiscally conservative" although the two Dem Presidents both decreased the deficit ... something no Republican President has done since Carter.

Do not blame me for giving you the facts.

I am a fiscal conservative by political stripe (Goldwater conservative who does not much like the religious right) . The GOP are not fiscally conservative.

Every time since Carter when a Republican President has been in the WH deficits have skyrocketed.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but facts are facts.

Well we all know the facts and I would respond by I'm growing tired of the leftist diatribe and talking points. Not that pointing out the facts have ever converted the liberals to conservatives.

You have claimed that the Federal Budget was smaller under Newt Gingrich.....that is not true. The Federal Budget GREW under Gingrich, every year.

Where did you hear or see this LIE that Gingrich reduced spending? Might I guess a Radio talk show or a certain cable news network???

Anyone the spouts the bull(*)(*)(*)(*) they want smaller government and then votes for either the dems or the Gop is either lying or is extremely ignorant in my opinion. Neither party is for smaller government by their actions when they actually get into office.

My basic point is....what we see is the "history revisionism" that Rightwing Media foisters on its audience.

They ACTUALLY believe that "Newt and the Gingrich Revolution Congress cut the Federal Budget"....ironically, something EVEN NEWT denied at the time. He always said he was simply "cutting the RATE of growth".

Same deal to an even worse extant with ditto-heads, Hannitized, Beckers, whatever who ACTUALLY believe "Reagan never raised taxes" or even more ludicrious "Reagan cut spending" (not proposed it, but that he ACTUALLY did cut spending).

Orwell was right....whoever controls the past, controls the future. And despite clear, researchable historical evidence, Rightwing Media appears to utterly control its audience to the point where they can be told things that are COMPLETELY FALSE (not just historically) and they'll believe them.

The old joke about them is that they believe "reality has a liberal bias"....or as Colbert called it, their belief in "truthiness."

I agree with you. The raging masses in general are painfully ignorant, self centered and myopic so there is no point in nit picking over which side contains more stupid people.

Part of the problem is that we do not educate our children in Philosophy (logic, logical fallacies, and what makes a valid argument). As such it is really not their fault as they do not have the tools to know when politicians and the mass media are peddling nonsense.

Another thing kids need education in is what an oligopoly is and how such a system can reduce the population into a form of indentured slavery. Then they might stop voting Red or Blue as both support the current oligopolistic system.

Palin vs Warren - would be fun to watch to see who said the stupidest things during the debates. Doubt America could survive with one of them being the whipped cream on Obama's 8 years of stupidity.

I don't feel the need to respond to or argue with data that is obviously false.

I don't know that Romney ever had that election won, but he surely showed the same contempt for New Jersey Bush showed for New Orleans. It sealed his fate.

Children might not be at fault for lacking tools, but once they become adults their life is their own responsibility. I feel quite comfortable blaming an adult for not checking whether a bridge exists before he tries to step on it.

Blaming anyone for showing contempt at the source of 'gym-tan-laundry' is like blaming a fish for being wet.

"Data that is obviously false"? I asked you if the Federal Budget was smaller year-to-year under Newt...as you claim (or more likely, heard on some Rightwing Radio show or Fox)....

and you can't answer that, because that claim is total b.s.

If not....prove me wrong. Show the budget outlays from 1995 to 2000 and see if the number is smaller or LARGER each year?

But.... haven't we set up our central bank in such a way that there is no other way to keep things going than to increase the deficit?

Isn't this ultimately a deliberate policy that some truly intelligent people agreed to?

Dr. Albert Einstein made some statements that would tend to make us wonder if he ever had one of those out of the body experiences?
