One just busted Dice and the other guy said he would vote for Trump if Bernie lost.... Watch the brilliant work that Cohen has done on idiots like Rohrbacher, Cheney, Palin, that GOP Assemblyman from Georgia and the pack of nit wits from Kingman Az.... Not even close. Sasha is the master and GOP politicians and activists are easy targets because of their general cluelessness.

 

James O'Keefe isn't talented, so no, I don't enjoy his work -- by the way, let me know when Cohen gets federally charged with attempted phone tampering and breaking and entering -- James O'Keefe has....was that funny to you?

If O'Keefe breaks/broke laws doing his thing, he should face the consequences. Doesn't change my point in the least, or that I find several of his videos, especially the one I linked, extremely amusing.

The problem conservatives have always had when it comes to things like this is that conservatives are not funny -- there are not many funny conservative comics as opposed to liberal or non-political comics for a reason --- because the driving force behind comedy is punching up at power, not punching down at the powerless, like so many conservatives love to do....

 

I find OKeefe's work not only funny, but hilariously funny. Getting some fool to admit to hiring drunks and mentally ill to astroturf and disrupt political opposition events ON CAMERA? That's flat out comedy gold. Especially when they end up fired because of that. To me those are far worse crimes than whatever OKeefe did... in the past.

The -only- reason there are not more nonleft comedians is that they are denied a platform or outright blacklisted. BTW, Cohen is kind of washed up. All of his post Borat (2006) stuff is pretty lame, and I loved him skewering the right in Borat. No wonder he's trying to hop onto the U.S. political divisiveness train and bring himself back to the A list.

The problem that is going on is that there is so much racism against "White Men", we are seeing more and more people think that racism in general is ok and it is becoming a MASSIVE detriment to our society as a whole.

This division has become more and more prominent and the "race" lines are becoming more solid unfortunately.

The evil "White Men" voted for Republicans in 2016 to the tune of:

White Men - 62%R / 31%D
White Women - 52%R / 43%D
White Total - 57%R / 37%D

Another new poll came out showing that Dems have lost a pretty sizable portion of "White Male Millennials" as well. The trend seems to show that the "White Men" scenario is playing out exactly as Dems are predicting.

That Millennial vote is a MASSIVE swing, if those are to be believed then the "White Men" vote for 2018 and 2020 could be even more of a complete lopsided mess away from Democrats.

Democrats have been extremely publicly, acting in a way that vilifies "White Men" as they aim to replace them with anything other than .... "White Men". Including recently lauding their ability to "Replace White Men in Government with Women" (notice there is no racial identity to women)

You can find article after article claiming that "The Republican Party is still only White Men!" like it is a horrible racial prejudice, all with the buzz phrases of how evil "White Men" really are.

Will Democrats realize this is a problem? Do they even think it is a problem?

Obama even recently came out and made a statement about the problems with marginalizing "White Men", of course 10 seconds later he made a comment ripping on them again .... so not sure what that is worth.

But overall, the only racial statements (all of them EXTREMELY negative) has been against "White Men" and those same "Evil People" are just sick and tired of it.

It's going to be fascinating to see what happens in the polls and finally in the vote if this continues, I am curious to see where this all can end up.

 

Sycophants for authoritarians usually find punch down hilarious .....and people who suck at comedy always complain about not having a platform....people with talent create their own platforms, truth of the matter is, most conservatives suck at comedy...

I think that there is a difference in how a liberal and a conservative thinks. True Liberals tends to see the world in all kinds of shades and colors. True Conservatives tend to see the world in black and white. True Conservatives therefore stay on message. That is why Conservatives do great as talk show hosts they deliver the narrow message that their audience wants to hear and what they want to hear is one side of the issue. Conservatives are serious people. Liberals on the other hand are open to a range of issues and a range within an issue. Liberals really suck at talk shows. Conservatives tend to be more decisive Liberals will ponder and ponder before they decide and will question themselves. Liberals are more willing to laugh at themselves. That is why Liberals tend to do better at commedy. A comedian has to be able to laugh at himself before he can be credible at poking fun at others.

That is a general view since not all Liberals are funny and and not all Conservatives are boring serious.

No, that's not what I'm talking about. A recent U of London (I believe) study found that most of the net humor memes that gain traction and go viral originate on 4chan pol and the_donald reddit sub, two anti statist, anti left areas of the net. The study calls them "toxic," and /pol may be toxic. the donald is not. You claimed a difference in mentality between left and right as a basis for why there is less conservative humor in traditional media. OTOH, new media is full of humor, and anti left humor is far funnier, gains far more traction, than anti right humor there. Anyone can spend an hour or two looking at various youtube vids and see this for themselves.

National Lampoon, one of the funniest things this country ever produced, was -extremely- politically incorrect, not left compliant in the least, skewered both sides mercilessly. And several of the key players in that magazine and later film and other careers, were centrist or right leaning. See P.J. O Rourke, John Hughes (one of the greatest comedy minds of the 20th century... as all those hit films of the 80s and 90s attest)

The fact is that the left has a hegemony in MSM, blacklists and suppresses nonleft voices. James Woods, a comedic genius of an actor (see the movie "Casino" and others), acknowledged that expressing his RW views has ended his career. There are dozens like him. In order to be a RW or "conservative" celebrity, comedian or other, you have to make the industry so much money that they can't censor or blacklist you... see Clint Eastwood. Absent that, the minute someone expresses noncompliant, nonleft views, their career is toast. This makes perfect economic sense, as the U.S. entertainment industry runs, to a large part, on redistribution.
