Seems the Sauds are insulating themselves from ISIS:

    http://www.businessinsider.com/saud...00-mile-great-wall-to-shield-from-isis-2015-1

Wait! What? I thought in this day and age walls were obsolete and we couldn't build one along our southern border? Seems someone forgot to tell the Saudis who aren't trying to keep unarmed illegals from invading their country, but rather a highly-armed radical Army.

Do you think the wall will be successful or will it just be bypassed if ISIS/ISIL invades Kuwait or Jordan?

    No reference to cost.

Bigger question: If the Saudis can do it, why not America?

Because Saudi Arabia is an Islamofascist regime where questioning the King will get you killed. It's pretty easy to get stuff done that way.

Because the current liberal infestation of government needs a steady flood of brown welfare-for-votes cattle in order to maintain power.

Not sure how well a wall holds up under tank and artillery fire, but maybe it helps in combination with defense forces.

Bunkers from WW2 are everywhere. I doubt it will be a 'wall' like in China. Probably more like a series of fortifications.

Oh sure, no doubt there still are. Many still intact, and many that were destroyed.

I think you are right about what kind of "wall" it will be. I don't blame them at all for doing what the feel they need to do.

Too well, but that's another story. At least it works. I don't want a wall, I want a secure fence. I don't want to block us off from the rest of the world, I want to engage with respect to American interests. How hard is that to understand? We HAD a successful immigration strategy, it used to be a strength at one point. But then the New Left had the bright idea that "Come one, come all."

It should be observable, that no other country views itself in this way. Even as Germany tried it, they had fierce resistance to the idea. David Cameron once admitted that globalism doesn't work, etc. Respect for our individuality is clearly the way to build the New World, as opposed to trying to colonize other peoples to fit a certain lifestyle.

The New Left has weakened, polarized and divided the Nation. A movement that began slowly, they added their key allies and now they're running amuck all over the place. Like the Communist Wars in 1920's Europe. Give them a step, they'll take a mile. These last 6 years have been a tremor and not the way we had hoped.

From what I hear its not just a wall, but a series of walls and ditches with military units stationed along the way.

Yeah, you and HTownMarine are right. That's what it sounds like. At first I had an image of an Israeli type wall in my head for some reason.

Nope that CREATION is Bush and Cheneys. Remember?? Al Qaida, AKA AQI, (Al Qaida IRAQ). "Founded" 2003 (or 04). (Of course even the first Al Qaida thought their 'spin off' was so BRUTAL, they wouldn't haven't annnnnnnything to do with them.

I will repeat. Thank you George, thank you Dick. Your incompetence knows no ends in most of the lifetimes of Iraq or for that matter on this board.

If Bush was still in charge than ISIS would not exist.

They were made possible by Obama.

I can see it now. One day a President will tell the Saudi king, "Your royal highness, tear down this wall!", When Ronnie Raygun said it to the Russians he got a standing ovation.

Anyone with a historical understanding of Wahabbi and Salafist history should know that no matter what Clinton, Bush or Obama did, nothing was going to stop the creation of ISIS. It is the logical conclusion of the Salafist/Wahabbi line of thought, and it is the gravest threat to come from the middle east, ever.

Al Qaeda operated much differently, though it used similar rhetoric. ISIS uses the rhetoric, but takes it to nihilistic, fatalist extremes.

Where Al Qaeda was content to blow up a few buildings, ISIS will not rest until the West is drawn into a final, self destructive battle with them, and ISIS can then reinvent the world as it sees fit.

That's the difference between the two. ISIS will not stop - because they have no other option. The US and its allies have to realize that ISIS will never stop trying to attain this apocalyptic vision - the destruction of the secular way of life, a massive, cataclysmic final showdown, which results in ISIS recreating the world to its beliefs.

Put plainly, there is no room in ISIS' ideology for the existence of the West. None. It cannot function with the West existing. It must destroy the West to obtain it's goals, OR, be destroyed by the west, and be martyred to the cause.

    ISIS won't stop.

This is another indication of just how poor your reasoning is. East Germany was keeping its citizens captive. The Saudi's are keeping their citizens safe.

    You should be embarrassed.

Another ignorant racist post. No surprise. Of course there are no white "cattle" being herded by conservatives and not one white person on welfare. Extraordinary achievement.
