From living stem cells. Let me know when scientists are able to create something using dead cells.

This is interesting, but it isn't "man can start creating life" interesting.

    From your article:

So, essentially they've made "three layers", but even that is missing some characteristics of a natural one. Additionally, when done in animals its never succeeded.

Well it certainly is the start. Now it will become a matter of medical engineering. There is the primordial soup theory.

Not sure what you mean about being done in animals since doctors have turned to pigs for parts.

I knew there was a reason why after all these years I started rereading Huxley's Brave New World. When I read this book in high school it seemed a little too far fetched. But now, not so much. The mental conditioning is currently not at the level forcast by Huxley, but getting there. And now we have test tube life. No need for real mothers. Liberalism can really move forward now.

It took random processes 800 million years to form the simplest of life forms. It's taken humans a few decades to create the simplest of embryos. And why would you start with dead cells and you would need to define what is a "dead cell" - a rotting carcass is composed of dead cells and those cells will be teeming with 'life'

Scientists know what dead tissue is. Where is the missing link that proves the Theory of Evolution?

The theory is just a theory. There are many facts that suggest the theory may not be valid.

The phrase "missing link" is not scientific

The simplest 'living' life forms can be classed as 'dead'

The scientific community uses that term. Do you know what an oxymoron is? Your Marxist brainwashing is telling you there is no truth. Dead is living and living is dead.

That's quite a leap that this scientific breakthrough is political. I guess RWers will have to invent a new explanation when a soul enters a mankind created life.

Well again, it's a start, but no it's nothing to do with "primordial soup theory." There isn't any creating life from scratch here.

Now that would be a big trick.

We've had animal husbandry for far longer than a few decades, but it isn't creating life.

This has nothing to do with politics yet you needed to bring it up.

As we both agreed, it is a start, maybe the primordial soup theory isn't the proper term, but mankind is just around the corner to be making life. Obviously it will a step process, but it is coming. Now inject AI into these synthetic humanoids, and we could build a terminator.

Making life, like fusion energy, always seems just around the corner.

    I'll wait.

FYI, AI might be the catalyst for that breakthrough.

Possibly. I've not seen AI applied to that sort of problem yet.

This is a fascinating story, but I don't see it primarily in the problematic way that you do. Did you read the associated stories, about the way CRISPR is now being used to cure genetically inherited diseases (like sickke-cell anemia)? Or about the way that some researchers have learned how to reset an animal's body clock? Fascinating stuff.
