We have Russians in Indiana. What's your point other than making the same argument that Hitler used to invade other countries?

Oh so then those hundred and one Russian invasions are true? Are those tanks still piled in Ukraine, or did they leave each time and then re-enter. How about clarifying it for us?

The union with Sweden is slightly politically motivated expression. Swedes lost their empire in a feudal Europe. Their attitude to finnish people is a good thing to compare with the behaviour of russian occupants.

That was the age when rights of people were not that much of an issue. You can't judge the political moves of medieval powers according to modern standards.

Thanks for mentioning it. The feudal union of Russia and Finland gave them much more freedom comparing to what other european empires gave to other people.

Russian governor was killed in a period of a political terror against Russia. At that moment GB was gradually fighting against the growing russian influence and the political pressure has always came hand in hand with political murders.
Panslavism was born not in Russia. It was born in eastern europe where slavic nations tried to solve their national problems with the military help of Russia.

Which is quite a democratic behaviour from both sides I would say.

It still doesn't change a fact that the declaration of freedom was accepted and welcomed by Lenin. If such a declaration of Crimea and Donbass would have been welcomed from western powers just the same way Lenin did - there would be a lot of people alive.

There is nothing curious really. Finland was used against soviet Russia as an area for an aggression. Firstly it was used by GB and its allies and later when fascists kicked the influence of the allies our of the scandinavian territory Finland was used by Germany. The decision to attack Russia has never been the desire of a nation. Understanding it soviet Russia just got everything they could in order to secure its own territory. It could have happened peacefully if Finnish politicians were independent of the western influence, but unfortunately their position led to humiliation of Finland and aggression of USSR.
Please, note that finnish generals were not able to invade much further than they did in the WWII. And it is just a merit of siviet troops and the positions that soviet troops gained due to winter war. AAs the result of WWII Stalin could have included Finland back as a soviet republique, but he didn't... Afterall Finland is a different culture and they have another way in the world and history.

Indeed. But still the passage that Finland was given their freedom by russians is undoubtful and undebateble. Russia could use Finland as a dependant territory as the swedes did. Russia could include its territory to USSR after the WWII. And the history of russian-finnish relationship has different stories and pages.

If you start to burn these russians alive and attack their values and way of living - it would be just what Hitler or Poroshenko have done.

There is peace in Moldova where russian peacekeepers serve. There used to be peace between georgians and ossetians where russian peacekeepers served... And yes. There is no peace in any territory where american peacekeepers fo their bloody business. So keep on laughing if that is your wish. :)

Will one liner trolls from the USA stop polluting this forum with nonsensical posts? Can you contribute something meaningful to this forum instead of continually posting rubbish? Serious forums forbid one line posts. I guess that's why you are here Hoosier, you can't construct more than one sentence.

Regarding Crimea that's a good point, but there is still a detail: about that region Moscow did it all ... Moscow gave it to Ukraine [I know there are Russians historians contesting the procedure followed for this transfer, but it happens and the Soviet organisms had a very long time to correct any constitutional or institutional "mistake" putting Crimea in Russia again ... but they didn't ...].

So, when Ukraine has become an independent country out of USSR, in Crimea they had to expect some troubles declaring independence ...

If Moscow didn't move Crimea to Ukraine ... a lot of people would be still alive today ...

Oh, then why didn't Russia accept Novorussiya when they voted to rejoin Russia, and why did Russia say it wanted them to remain a part of Ukraine at the Minsk agreements?

Now instead of coming back with the usual stupidities and propaganda, how about answering me?

If you do, I unlike you, will tell you why Russia doesn't want the Donbas.

That's absolutely misleading. If the USA minded their own business and didn't organize and sponsored the illegitimate coup no one would've died. The U.S foreign policy makers are directly responsible for the mess Ukraine is in today.

And maybe you should start taking the whole situation a bit more seriously. The U.S foreign policy makers threaten not only Russia and Europe but the future of the whole world. American general public is totally unaware that their elites are taking them right into the abyss. Sleepwalking into an absolute disaster.

What wasn't mentioned is that the area where the American troops flaunted themselves, consists of ethnic Russians, so it was definitely a provocation. I'm not sure if it's Estonia or another Balkan nation, but one of them has an apartheid system towards Russians that is similar to the one South Africa had towards blacks. Russia did complain to the UN about it, but of course they paid it no heed. Also an anti Nazi law forwarded by Russia in the security council was voted down by Britain and the US.

The American people have been lulled into an alternate reality by those who control Washington and the media. What is the most amazing, is that they've sold it to the Europeans through the same propaganda networks, when they're going to be on the front lines of the next war. Our government is run by a bunch sociopaths who want to pit Germany against Russia for their own geo political interests....while they in turn will be warring with China.

Since Washington decided to enter the Black Sea and circumvent the treaty which was meant to protect Russia from foreign war ships, Russia's responding by rebuilding the facilities of the USSR on Cuba together with China. Putin did say that he will equal everything the US does, but will never exceed it. This was the real reason for Kerry's trip to Socchi. This and the fear that Russia might give China it's advanced military technology...which as yet China doesn't have.

I am not so sure. Peace is the compromise of all parties. However the reality is that not Ukraine government ("fighting with aggression", i.e. trying to find justifications for future financial collapse), not States (trying to decrease Russian influence by means of long term bloody conflict), not Russia (trying to take back under control Ukraine) is going to stop this war. Iran is another game which has nothing in common with Ukraine.

I note that the historical reasoning about why Crimea is in Ukraine is quite disturbing for Russians and Russian propaganda ... it's your fault. Face the matter, don't divert attention.

The "original sin" was that: Moscow gave Crimea to Ukraine [for reasons that only a Communist of that age could understand ...].

That's insane. If they were Russians in search of "Lebensraum," there'd be PLENTY of it awaiting them in the Russian Federation. Your logic fails.

Why do you continue to blame Russia for a separatist movement in Ukraine?

Putin wants to create USSR-II. I'm surprised he is dilly-dallying so slow. Croatia is done, Ukraine is half done, etc. Maybe he thinks if he goes slow Nobama won't notice.

Communist has transferred Crimea from one region of one country to another. Not to Ukraine as a separate state.

Russia has not tried to argue (thanks to Yeltsin) the borders drawn sometimes without any logic at the moment of USSR collapse.

And 25 years later... suddenly... without any reasons... Russia tries to argue about borders. Do you have any idea why now?

This is will be the answer about sins:)

In the mind of that Talmudic Trotsky gurus running US foreign policy, peace is total submission. Anything else is war caused by those who refuse to submit to the war crazies behind most all the wars since Britain's war in Crimea and Lincoln's Communist Revolution of 1861.

If you commit suicide for the Talmudists or kneel before them to have your throat cut, then you will be considered "peaceful" especially when you are dead.

25 years in independent Ukraine - Washington created Ukrainians - that they were hostile to Russia and that Ukraine was included into the EU. The USA wanted to place NATO in the territory of Ukraine and the military base in the Crimea. Every time the new pro-American mode in Ukraine, again got under influence of Moscow. One and a half years ago, during an Euromaidan in Kiev, the former president Yanukovych, again changed the decision on the accession to the EU... The USA were tired to spend money and to wait. For the USA there was a good situation for change of the power in Kiev because there were many radicals... and Washington started working. At change of the power people were lost. The legal president Yanukovych was in the east of Ukraine. But the USA without paying attention to it, began to cooperate with junta. The silly junta started creating at once stupid radical laws and to do dictatorship. Such lawlessness in Ukraine and pro-American radical junta, became real threat for inhabitants of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and to military fleet of Russia. Most of inhabitants of the Crimea asked Russia for the help. The president of Russia V. Putin seeing what lawlessness in Ukraine and as the USA irresponsibly support - cooperate with not legitimate junta, decided to act. He helped also inhabitants of the Crimea to come back home to Russia and kept the military base in the Crimea.

At Washington the plan A didn't turn out.
Washington was in rage and began the plan B.
B.'s plan now - to isolate Russia. From supply of cheap energy resources from Russia to Europe. But expensive american slate gas for example to deliver to Europe. Or there is a lot of American cheap meat production (by the way Europeans don't like quality...) will be good to deliver to Europe too etc. As tell anything personal the Sir, simply business. And this business plan of the USA - threatens with huge war. Dangerous to all mankind.

Obviously you don't know what's going on, because Russia is the only one that is striving for peace. Washington doesn't want it, and Kiev doesn't want it. Had Russia not threatened to close its borders to the militia when Ukraine surrendered...twice, the militia would have taken Mariupol and Odessa a long time ago. A Ukrainian general said they are considered the most competent army in Europe, and there's no way Ukraine can win.

Wow...you got me. The only problem is that I am as much Russian as you are. It's very simple. The U.S organized and sponsored the illegitimate coup in Ukraine and in which they overthrew the democratically elected president. The USA started the war. A carbon copy of what they did in the Balkans.

In this particular case I support Russia. Crimea is Russian. I also support the Japanese claim to the Northern territories.

The USA involvement in European affairs brings only destruction, further erosion of living standards and a possible war which could completely devastate the European continent. It's your right to blindly follow the U.S degenerates. I choose not to.
