because in todays society and thanks to the media in a rape case the man is guilty till proven innocent
On that I do agree to a point. Still doesn't mean that people who are not in possession of the full facts should be making judgements .. I include the media in that as well, the media do it because it sells. I often wonder what the reason is for the arm chair detectives no matter which 'side' they aline with.
but supposition got a Duke Lacrosse coach fired. In real life, you can't afford to wait on false claims to be handled when it can cost people that weren't even there, their jobs....
Which was wrong and should have allowed him to sue for wrongful dismissal .. if the proper authorities are not allowed to do their jobs you end up with kangaroo courts conducting trials by media and 'hang um' crowds leveling the sentence. I fully support the idea that the alleged accused has anonymity to the same extent as the alleged victim until such time the case is proven or not. I would go further an arrest ANY media or individual who violated that anonymity.
agreed... that's the problem with her allowing to keep her anonymity and he can not... I understand the importance of keeping hers... to a point. but if she's allowed to keep hers, he should get the same extention of protection that would allow a better chance for real justice.... on a related note... http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...winston-sexual-battery-investigation/3962397/ so even though two separate investigations, both leading to not enough evidence, and an announcement of a press conference is made right before Heisman ballots are due (last night deadline), the family of "#cleatchaser, is still causing problems and waiting for specific times to do this.....
He would if he was not a public figure I think. Am I wrong? I do think that one of the things that people don't grasp, is that once you are famous, you have no privacy anymore. Anything that happens to you, is eventually published world wide (it seems). The problem is, you simply can't run around with women, when you are famous. You are asking for trouble. You have a bad break up, and then you get screwed over in the press. And women today, do the same thing. They take nude photos of themselves, supposedly for their 'boy friend' and then are shocked... just shocked, that their photos end up on the internet? What kind of an idiot does that? I know it's crazy, but I keep thinking.... just don't mess around. How crazy is that? I don't think much of this would happen if people were not screwing around all the time, and then are shocked they get screwed.
I hear ya. In Jameis issue... the 18 y.o. hadn't played yet. He was a redshirt freshman (so he could play for 4 years starting his 2nd year of college but still practice for a full year before eligibility started). So in Dec of 12... other than knowing he was on the team.... he wasn't "famous" but I agree, when you're famous, you live under a microscope... but that brings us back to my main point.... there are women that TARGET famous guys in order to first sleep with, then extort them for large amounts of money. It's the evolution of the groupie.... When NFL contracts are what they are.... a college girl finds one right before the draft, she's either pregnant and has NFL sized child support checks for the length of the guy's career... Even if that's only 3 years... that's 36 months of some pretty big checks that can significantly improve a lifestyle. and if she doesn't get preggo, plan b is to cry rape and hope for a hush money settlement. Look at Kobe Bryant. Screws a groupie in Colorado, she cries rape, so he pays her off. She files a false police report, yet gets away with "an undisclosed amount..... that in no way indicates any wrong doing on Bryant's part"
