Your question was a red herring and unresponsive to my point about average folks not putting up with getting ripped off. I mentioned Social Security and medical care because those are decided by the government and subject to the electoral blowback against elites. I could also have mentioned laws hobbling unions.

Most average guys just want a chance to earn a decent living.
