One of the undisputed claims is that he was furious that they wouldn't take him to the Capitol. And this is why.

I saw an expert on coups and banana republics discussing trumps actions and what is consistent with third-world dictators and despots. The last step in his plan was the victorious arrival at the capitol to show he has taken over. It is a necessary ingredient in any coup. The fact that he couldn't get there is almost certainly why it failed. They likely would have eliminated Pence and Pelosi, throwing the line of succession into a Constitutional dispute while challenging the actual electors with fake electors. That is why trump turned on Pence.

I learned about this early on. Look at how dictators operate and then compare that to what trump does. He is utterly transparent.

It doesn't make sense because he had a pathway to get there. All he had to do is answer the calls from Pence and Pelosi and Ivana and whomever else, told his SS detail that he wanted to go stop the mob, get there and go rogue. Therefore, it makes no sense that he just ignored the calls and pleas for over three hours. He had that pathway "in" and didn't take it.

Am I an IGNORANT CANADIAN to have came to the conclusion that President Obama stacked the FBI and CIA from January of 2009 to January of 2017 so that the FBI and CIA
leadership became something of an ENFORCEMENT ARM for the Democratic Party?????

It seems that the committee is looking closely at recommending a "Dereliction of Duty" charge

From Washington to Trump: What Is Dereliction of Duty?
...In 1787, when the delegates at the Constitutional Convention crafted Article II of the Constitution, they penned the president’s oath of office. Thinking of the British troops that had departed New York City just four years earlier, they certainly expected the president would rally the defenses if a foreign power invaded the country.

They also fully anticipated that the president would lead a response to a domestic insurrection, and they had good reason to create a powerful executive for that very scenario. The previous year, Revolutionary War veteran Daniel Shays and a group of rebels closed down the local courts in western Massachusetts in response to punitive tax measures. Congress had been unable to raise the funds or forces to suppress the rebellion. Fearful for their own safety, wealthy citizens in Boston finally raised the money to pay for a private military force and restore order....
    https://www.governing.com/now/from-washington-to-trump-what-is-dereliction-of-duty.html

The fourth federal law, 18 U.S.C. 1918 provides penalties for violation of oath office described in 5 U.S.C. 7311 which include: (1) removal from office and; (2) confinement or a fine.
https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers...urth federal law, 18,2) confinement or a fine.

Thanks I was unaware of this history

I would think that Trump with his self centred narcissism would find “dereliction of duty” particularly galling as he would never consider he had a duty to anyone else at anytime

I've changed my mind on this. Lock him up.

It's important that we all know actions as well as elections have consequences.

Besides, I want to see how many cigarettes a butt that size is worth.

I think Trump should go to prison, to make funny videos of himself poking convicted traitors and thieves like Hillary, Biden, and Obama with a sharp stick through the bars of their cells and tossing them rubber chickens and laughing while they try to eat them.

So…… Why did he not “Lock Hillary up” when he had a chance? I mean he was willing to let his own VP be strung up and killed why not actually lock up Hillary and Obama?

If he is found guilty in a court of law, yes. If not, no.

Your hyperbole doesn't reflect Pence's opinion of Trump. Could it be because he is able to separate fact from fiction?

How is it "hyperbole" when the idiots attacking the Capitol were chanting "hang Mike Pence", Trump did NOTHING to stop them for hours, Pence's secret service detail hid him in a parking garage, and Trump said "he (Pence) deserves it?

I don't think you're able to discern fact from hyperbole.

Not Pence; somebody else around here. He's just being his typical cowardly self and saying something which is politically expedient.

"Hang Mike Pence! Hang Mike Pence! Hang Mike Pence!" Is all made up, right?

The chants might be real, but Pence has not attributed them to Trump. His viewpoint has to count for something, especially since he has nothing to gain by standing by Trump. His characteristic of Trump outweighs your hyperbole.

    *LOL*

Maybe not publicly. But everyone who doesn't have their heads in the sand knows it was Trump's insane rhetoric fueling the idiots' desire to hang Mike Pence.

He told them that Mike Pence didn't do the right thing, and approved of the "hang Mike Pence" chants. But I suppose reality is a "lie" and TDS, and stuff.

You'll have to provide a direct quote from Trump stating he supported the chant.

I know. Trump responded to the accusation on TruthSocial by saying:

You mean you WANT to believe that? I want to believe Hilary Clinton has a child sex ring at a pizza parlour, does that make it so?

No he didn't, he denied it all.

Huh? Why can't you guys draw analogies--at all? The kooky pizzagate conspiracy nonsense is nothing like something we all saw, heard and everyone with the President knows he did and said. That's not reasonable, Rob.

He told idiots that he knew were armed to march to the Capitol. ONce they had broken into the Capitol, while chanting "hang Mike Pence" and stating that they were looking for Nancy Pelosi, among others, the orange stain did NOTHING to stop them for hours. If he didn't intend for that to happen,. why did he invite the idiots to DC, and then point them at the Capitol, doing nothing to stop them? Because that's the result he intended, that's why.

He did? Well, then I guess he didn't say it! Good reasoning!

So much said about Trump was always fake news. The Democrats and their loony leftist media's goal was to dirty him up, so he'd never win another election. By all means, this does not imply Trump was a saint, but at least he never sold our nation's oil reserves to China.

Energy expert sounds alarm on Biden selling oil to China: 'Worthy of congressional investigation' (msn.com)
