…It’s hard to fathom any legal proceeding in which only one side gets to express their narrative, and that narrative stands without any dissent whatsoever.

Oh, wait, you can see that on CNN today if you tune in to the Democrats’ January 6 Committee’s kangaroo court. (For a good background, I recommend Mike Huckabee’s article, ‘Emergency’ January 6 Hearing is an Absurdity.)

This faux hearing has brought injustice full circle and set us back 169 years to the days of the unjust trial of Solomon Northrup’s abductor. I realize that being treated like a subhuman on a Louisiana plantation exacting gruesome toil exceeds even the treatment of any J6 protester. However, from the standpoint of getting justice in Washington, D.C., there’s little difference. Both are completely one-sided, akin to Joseph Stalin’s “show trials” in Moscow between 1936 and 1938. Properly labeled, they were just that: totally for “show” with a pre-determined outcome.

What a disgrace to our country.

Every committee member was cherry-picked by Nancy Pelosi because he hates the MAGA movement and scoffs at the Constitution…

The author is exactly right. The J6 commission is a star chamber show trial before a kangaroo court. They have no interest in the truth or in justice. It is a tool of the DC swamp.

 

They are there to reach only one outcome. No evidence to the contrary, no response direct, no cross examination, no contrary witnesses allowed. No wonder most Americans don’t care what they have to say

 

They're trying to milk this for all it's worth until the midterms for the obvious reason there and also to keep people looking from the fact that the economy is in shambles under their direction.

there has been no shortage of countervailing narrative delivered by trump and his henchmen on every media outlet available. he throws tantrums, threatens witnesses, raises money, and says anything he damn well pleases without bothering to swear an oath, all things that he would not be allowed to do in the committee meetings.

not that an oath would slow down his tsunami of bulls it. conservatives love their perjuring heroes even more ....

 

Everyone would love to see people from Donald’s side testify but they have too much to hide and not enough courage to stand behind their actions.

 

With the makeup of the Committee being what it is I would refuse to testify myself. Why give it any legitimacy?

Republicans had every opportunity to make it non-partisan like the 911 commission. They chose not to. The idea of not investigating an attempt to hang the Vice President for not illegally counting the votes of false electors is absolute garbage. Only a guilty person or a fool would leave that unexamined.

 

Donald’s appointed attorney Bill Barr has testified, his daughter, several of his advisers, his campaign manager and many others have testified.

There were a lot of people who kept their oath to uphold the constitution rather than carry out the foolish plan to appoint false electors and lie to the American public about false election fraud.

 

The rioters have been arrested and some convicted. You can't pin what they did on DJT no matter how hard you try. The majority of those involved in what started out as a peaceful protest did nothing illegal.

Know what points this out more than any other? Through all other public hearings that Congress has put forth...from past history until this farce, all public hearings was done every single day of the week excepting weekends and most had a tentative scheduled ending to those hearings. THIS hearing however is only being held 1-2 a week and there is no tentative ending to it.

 

That if you want the commity to hear your side YOU SHOULD TESTIFY YOURSELF.

 

He told everyone before the election that he would consider the election results invalid if he lost. When he lost he tried to pretend it was fraud and everyone around him told him he was wrong. He doubled down on it anyway and tried to have the fake electors appointed and wanted to march up to Capitol Hill to get it done himself with an armed mob but he was too ineffectual to get past his bodyguards. He tried to intimidate state governments into “finding” votes. He tampers with witnesses and he has been taking donated funds under false pretences.

It’s all catching up on him. He is a traitor to the republic and a coward who hides behind lies.

 

There’s no one on his “side” on the committee. No re-directs, no cross examination, no opposing expert witnesses. No point. If Banks and Jordan were on the committee it would have some credibility. Without them, it’s scorched earth destruction of the credibility of the biased one sided pre determined outcome show trial kangaroo court.

 

Exactly! No legitimacy. No cooperation. No dialogue. No comity. No civil discourse. They the committee are the domestic enemy of fairness, justice, objectivity, truth.

That’s wrong. There was going to be a 13 person committee 8 D’s and 5 R’s. Pelosi took it upon herself to take the minority leaders prerogative to choose his or her members for the committee. Republicans decided if we aren’t going to be allowed to pick our own members we are going to destroy, subvert, impugn, question, and challenge the legitimacy of it on every single point. We as a party both in congress and the general public base are at war with that committee and will take personal revenge upon its re elected members next year when we dissolve it and create a new committee to investigate it, it’s members, and the new minority leader.

There still would have been a 13 person select committee had Pelosi not refused to let the minority leader select his members to the committee. That’s the bottom line.

 

no one is being tried for any crimes at this point, this is just a fact finding mission - the right is like.... we don't want facts though

 

We want all sides and viewpoints related to the issue presented and people on all sides of the issue on the committee. This particular committee deserves nothing but obstruction, hostility, and sheer and utter contempt. We have nothing but contempt of this congress and the present majority and don’t care that they don’t like it.

 

And the USA, its stated ideals and goals, its constitution, laws, history or any of the thousands who have died for it. People with this sort of attitude to the country they are in should be deported from that country since they are likely to do it harm.
