Yeah I already am ready to go......I wont have to head out for another hour. Plus it is raining here.

I got some sleep to.....rarily do I get anything over 4 or 5 hrs. So getting over 8 today.....was a surprise too.

Seen any others come around yet?

 

No... but I haven't been around either.

I'm envious of all that rain y'all are getting. I'd sure like to have a nice steady drizzle for awhile to cool things off. 'course I might feel differently if I had to get out in it and drive!

 

I'm sitting here with my bic lit... but I don't hear anything. No vid of your band playing at Ingrid's?

 

Well, they say next week that the Polar Vortex is going to drop some cooling temps down into the Midwest. So it will be knocking out some of this Humidity. It was cooler here today but humid.

I missed most of the News coming off the wire this after noon. Should have seen the stack from the ticker.

 

Yeah, we're actually supposed to get a couple of days when it barely gets to 80. Can't wait!

 

Well getting in this morning will be different. As you know I like to put up content. It will be an early night tonight, too.

 

I made it past midnight.. but now I'm fading fast. Hope to see ya 'round tomorrow, MMC. Have a good night and stay safe out there.

Yeah, I always have pecans coming out my ears! Here's my latest 'pay' (daughter & S-I-L also got one while down there helping out), and we get 'frosted' pecans every Christmas <yummy>.



Operation has gotten too big (over 100 20 yo pecans trees that need major trimming/thinning) for my sis & hubby who now 'share crop' it and split the profits with the laborers.

Dont plan on making it down this fall for the harvest---too much 'voluntary' work, altho my sis is a great cook and always makes feasts when folks visit! And hard physical work while eating 3 big meals/day has still kept me at my 'new' weight of 175 lbs...

But, too much work for 'retirement' for me!! I'll just spend the rest of the summer here drinking Corona's and watching the dynamic monsoon come thru..

Yeah, OD... they keep trying to run me off, but I won't leave. Know what you mean about the pecan grove... I have friends with about 50 pecan trees lining their driveway. Gorgeous place, but helluva lotta work. Good to hear you're holding onto that weight loss. I've got a few more to lose and I'm still doing weight watchers. Slow, but steady. Won't be long til I'll be at my optimal fighting weight.

Glad to hear that you have been sticking to WW---good, long-term, manageable weight loss that can reset the body's thermostat to a new 'normal.'

When you get down to your 'fighting weight,' dump the 2 male bums in your house and put yourself back on the market...

 

Good point... but there's 3 now. Just what I don't need to do is find another one. Maybe I could trade these guys in for one Mr. Wonderful! If you run into one... send him my way. I've still got the garage to rent out.

 

Got to bed at 3 am this morning. Played a gig for donors to a homeless shelter. Stuff-shirts, etc. You shoulda seen em coming undone with a little alcohol and our 'oldies' set. What a hoot! Free booze for the band.....Oh my head....

 

Nobody gets sillier than stuff-shirts with a little booze in their belly. Did you watch the video prunepicker posted earlier? Folks do like to shake their moneymaker to a live band.

Btw Smartie, you got any Brookshires around your neck of the woods? They are in E. TX---we bought a can of their brand Columbian coffee and everyone raved about how good it was---took a couple cans back home to CO & AZ...my daughter & hubby are coffee connoisseurs (Starbucks fans) who brought back some Blue Mtn from Jamaica on their honeymoon 10 yrs ago...(I'm just a coffee 'sewer who drinks DD whole bean @ 3-4 cups/day)

 

No Brookshires in Big D. Not sure why... they have a good reputation around here.

Speaking of coffee, did ya hear about the brand spanking new coffee maker I got a few days ago? It's a single cup maker that Shangrila recommended. Had so much fun stocking on different flavors of k-cups yesterday. The main difference I notice between this one and a Mr. Coffee is the temp of the coffee. Piping hot. Can't get that out of a regular coffee pot. My fav flavor so far is definitely Donut Shop... but then again, I'm a DD fan as well. Regular coffee can be used in this one, too... and I'm sure I'll go that route after the newness wears off.
