Brookshires is an upscale grocery (DC in Tyler) and we ended up shopping at 2 (one along TX155)

Just bought a new Hamilton Beach Brewmaster (single cup dispenser but makes up to 12 cups) the other day to replace the one my daughter gave me 8 yrs ago---wouldnt turn off, just blink the On/Off light. New one was 4 Stars on Amazon, but several 1 Stars complained that leaked/condensed, etc. So far no prob with mine.

Still have a 1 1/2 cup maker I used as a backup in trucking if stranded on an off ramp/parking lot over nite and couldnt get to a truck stop...ran it off of my power Inverter.

Not much for fancy coffees---just go for a good cup of 'hi-test,' black java

Yeah, I've heard that one all my life. For every good-looking hunk of man you run into, there's at least one woman somewhere who's sick to death of putting up with his (*)(*)(*)(*). ;)

Single life suits me. Once I run off all these hairy-legged housemates, I'll get me some cats and be all set for retirement. Might even buy me a travel trailer and me and the cats will tour the country.

Yeah, that's a good idea... think I'll check into it...

I don't go for the fancy coffees either. In fact, just smelling hazelnut coffee in the morning makes me wanna throw up. I hold my breath when I go by the coffee room at work so I don't have to smell it.

Same way with flavored iced teas. The fancier the restaurant, the more they feel the need to jazz up a perfectly good glass of tea. I always ask and if they say peach or raspberry, I say water, please.

    Nasty stuff.

    You got it!

My 2nd wife used to fantasize on how the beautiful ppl in Hollywood lived---I always pointed out the high divorce rates of all those 'perfect' ppl!

And as for being single----as far as 'men,' we can decorate w/o worrying about Better Homes & Garden 'motifs' and put up stuff (like animal horns/heads, etc) of the things that men like and feel comfortable being around. Bachelors can kick off shoes & leave socks anywhere, leave things out that they plan on using (even tho it may be months away!), drink as much as they want w/o being nagged, etc. etc. etc. And....no wives' In-Laws to have to put up with (or let become live-ins!), no made-up drama when things are going too good, etc..........true INDEPENDENCE & FREEDOM!!!!

    And, I forgot....NO CATS!!

LOL, you make some valid points. But who would clean the toilet if you didn't have a woman around? Now don't lie and say you would... I know better. :roflol:

Srsly, I envy happily married couples. Having somebody you can count on thru thick & thin is a wonderful thing. On the other hand, since I enjoy traveling alone... it gives me a chance to observe the dynamics between couples in restaurants, etc. Interesting stuff. Some couples look like they'd rather be anyplace else but where they are. Don't envy those folks. Would rather be alone than wishing I was alone. Been there, done that... got the tee shirt. ;)

I clean toilets--remember I was in the service and once had the title "Latrine Queen' in boot camp!

Seriously, housework doesnt bother me...in fact, when it's 'your mess' it's easier to maintain knowing that it is YOU who has to clean it up... [IMG]

My parents have been married 67 yrs but I dont envy their type of marriage----more of an Archie/Edith type of relationship..[IMG]

But yeah, I've seen the couples that eat out together, staring blankly, and not speaking to each other the whole time!

Old man Joe puts down his what?

Is that what we're calling it today? Ahahahaha

The music was great! I especially liked the mandolin. Something about the sound of a mandolin and the sound of a flute that is comforting or relaxing to me in some odd way.

Amazing what the sound of different types of instruments or the sounds of nature can do to a persons mood.

    Thanks for the video.

    Good Morning, Smartie.

One day closer to Friday. That's how Im lookin' at it.

I had this great idea. Tell me what you think.

A moat around your house you can swim in. Kind of on the lap pool idea but not really. You could have a draw bridge so any company that didn't call first and wants to stop by and park it, either has to swim across or go away.

Not bad for a Monday thought, no?
    Imagine the neighbors.
Falena whats going on with all this heavy equipment? New curtain drain?

    No, a mote.

Sounds interesting, but what would happen if they put restrictions on how much water we can use and we end up with a dry ditch around our house?

Maybe we could convince the EPA we have wetlands that need special rules.

Yeah, that's it... a swamp is better than a moat. And we could add gators to keep bill collectors away.

    What do ya think?

How wood one go about renovating a house to give it that 50's retro look. ?
Wouldn't it be far easier to just go over to Grandma's home and
offer her a Lawrence Welk collection of records or maybe Liberace.
