    Unless one is too cheap to run up a Bill.

    Mornin People of the Strange Brews. [​IMG] Well today, I am officially no longer working for the Chicago Tribune. Finished all the work I needed to last night, cleared out my office. Said goodbye to some good people. It has been a long run with them. I will naturally miss a few. Not to mention, still work with a few.

    Of course working for The Times will put me around some of their reporters and hardcore liberals. Now there I will be having some fun. Just sayin. [​IMG]

    Heya Nick. [​IMG] Yeah it was pretty much an all day affair yesterday. Not to mention I couldn't get a hold of any Staff. Didn't even know if any were on. I wish they would show what members are on line and the guests lookin-in. They will attract more hits to the site and members.

    Yesterday, was the start of my first couple of days off in several years. Don't even know what to do with the time.

    But first, today's holy moment of Dog-zen:

    Ok, the story goes like this. Beethoven was brilliant, but also somewhat cranky, and as his hearing worsened, he got crankier. One of his weirdest ticks was about coffee: at home, he always hand-counted exactly 60 coffee-beans to mash-up and put into his coffee cup. Back then, coffee was unfiltered and the grinds stayed at the bottom of the cup. The Greeks still do this to this day and then like to read your future from the coffee grinds, which I find a little weird, unless it's a drop-dead knockout-georgeous young Greek woman with huge breasts who is reading my fortune and then I am completely cool with it. Oh, did I already mention that she can gladly have very large breasts?? :D

    Anyhow, without any more mammarian excess, the story continues: Beethoven, in restaurants, in order to make sure that his coffee was 'perfect', always demanded that the waiter who served him would, in his presence, count up exactly 60 coffee beans, grind them and then serve Meister Beethoven his coffee. Beethoven wasn't exactly the most beloved of customers in restaurants or cafes in the latter part of his life. He was also a notoriously bad tipper who also stole a number of tablecloths because he sketched his musical themes on them while slurping his pefect coffee.

    There was even a cafe started up by some very business-savvy US-Americans in Bonn, Germany, called "60 Beans", circa 2007. They served a pretty darned mean cup of coffee, too!

    So, this was our dog-zen and 60 beans moment for the day.

    Do you think I'm maybe too wild for this bar, or should I hum a couple more?

    I kinda git all this " Shots " bidness.Like hay ... let's do shots.Or
    " shots night ".Brings back memory of Frat parties or college dorm drinking
    games.But then that's kid stuff.Unless one is a Hard Hat and likes to have
    a coupe shots of Kesseler with his draft Blatz at his favorite watering hole after
    work.Before having to go home and face May Lou's warmed over
    meatloaf with Lots ketchup.
    I prefer my shots { Like a Grown-up } not some sorority sister.College women
    need gimmicks in order to pass liquor into their system.I think that' pretty
    well established.Men should never.men should take take their " shots " seriously.
    Good hard liquor { the best one can comfortably afford } and in a nice thick
    glass either neat or with a chunky square of ice that is clear as a bell.
    Like how men in Board Rooms or Union Clubs { Private men's clubs } prefer
    to drink.No silly unbrellas or bright calypso colors.Real Booze isn't lavender
    or Pink,green,yellow.Real Booze is the color of Mahogany or Oak.Definitely
    Walnut and maybe knotty alder.Spanish cedar for those into intensively priced
    scotch whisky.
    I dare say that a steady diet of lowbrow whisky can effect one's taste
    buds making for a poor kisser.One might just as well kiss the huge Oak
    tree in the front yard after a day working at the Foundry and a few good slugs
    at McGillicutty's Pub.That being after frequenting - Max's - for the usual
    Draft and Kesseler and cashing one's Friday paycheck.
    Why even bother breaking a sweat at the local foundry if all one can look
    forward to is some cheap " shots ". Maybe to ease the pain.Maybe to blunt the
    slightly burnt nature of May Lou's standard meatloaf which hasn't changed in
    near 35 years.In fact,has only gotten greasier due to lower quality ground beef.
    There's a Lot a Dummy can learn from doin' shots.
    Like Mickey Rourke in - Barfly - is what.
    " Sometimes I just get tired of thinking of
    all the things I don't wanna do.All the things I don't wanna be. "
