Coffee, grits, bacon, eggs, orange juice, and toast is on the menu, if you don't like grits your southernism is suspect.

Don't like grits, but southern made southern fried chicken is mouth watering and the very best. I do Smithfields once a week. Does that count?

    Excellent advice. Thank you.

I also wait to look at my cards to judge the timing. A platoon sgt I once met in Tunica was a trainer in interrogation for 35Mikes (human intel). He told me the exact same thing. He also told me to take the exact same amount of time making a call or fold decision for the majority of my opening hands pre flop both in and out of position. That's difficult for me to manage though so I have strayed away from that

    Um ... I don't recall a Burt Reynolds flick titled - Seminole -.
It was - Gator - { 1976 } the year of The Disco.
I wonder if Gator McKlusky knew how to Disco.
Does a Gator use tableware.Would a Gator know a knife from
    a fork.
Did Gator know Sally Field was a Gidget.
    Did he care to know.

The hardest thing for me is looking at a bad hand.

A bad hand is so ugly that I don't want to look at it anymore.

    Just like everybody else.

Question for you. Say you're at the final table at the WSOP- all 9 still there. You're the big blind. Guy number 2 raises a 3 bet. Immediately following, the next person shoves all in. Someone then calls that all in.

You have a medium stack that would put you all in. You look down at your cards and you see pocked Kings.

    Would you fold?

Even with pocket Aces you would still need to fold, yes.

    Tournaments are sudden death.

You cannot risk sudden death since pocket Aces or pocket Kings only wins 1 out of 3 times.

    Everything depends on the flop.

You need to be able to see the flop before you face sudden death.

The greatest advantage in poker is being the chip leader.

Being the chip leader forgives a multitude of sins, as the Pope would say!

Yea that's what I'd do. Not to mention, there's a significant pay increase per elimination.

I love being chip leader. It's such an ego boost to be able to strong arm people around you in position

As the chip leader you are expected to push out the smaller players. But that can bring with it certain dangers of its own. I have seen many a chip leader become short stacked.

In a tourney the only good reason to go all-in (besides Petraeus' and Broadwell's going all-in) is (1) to protect your lead after the flop or after the turn and push other out, or (2) because it is the river and you have the nuts.

Yes that's it. Or you're the small stack with 9 big blinds left and you are dealt and A10 :)

I was in a 90 person tournament a while back. Made it to the final two tables. I was the low stack by a long shot. Got pocket 2's and pushed all in. I doubled up. Still the small stack. 2 hands later I get pocket 3s. Hit another set and doubled up. I finished 10th when I should have finished 18th

All of our local tourneys at the pub are 60 to 70 person events.

I have won half a dozen of these.

Now everybody knows my name and when I am in the hand they fold. At least the smart people fold.

It is a curse more than a blessing.

Some people fold if I just call. Can't make any money that way.

I just moved and I'm living in the DC area now and they just built an MGM :)

I have a few friends in the area, we're going to get together for a tournament soon in the coming months.
