Well, I hate to admit this... but I was 12 before I figured out Frontage Road wasn't an actual street. I thought it had to be the dang longest road in Texas. Still remember how stupid I felt when I found out what it was. That's worse than being lost. :(

map reading was so hard before gps, knew how to read it, but you'd have to write out every turn on a piece of paper. then map quest came, and as soon as you missed a turn, the paper was useless because it doesn't recalculate like GPS.

so without GPS, i wouldn't get back home.

Smartie I never have my camera when I need it.. Yesterday while I was lost...I passed by, of all things, a cricket farm...No joke a cricket farm. I thought of all the crickets in Dallas that cricket farmer would have thought he died and went to heaven in Dallas....

LOL, if he needs more... tell him I've got a ton I'll send him!! Surprisingly enough, there have only been crickets in the parking lot one day this week. It's bizarre... we all wonder where they go when they leave... when they do show up, there are hundreds of 'em. ~shudder~ Fine with me if they stay gone!!!

Hey! Another southern saying. Forgot about this one til I said it this morning. "that'll learn ya, durn ya" Used when somebody tries to do something one way, but it turns out another. Means you prob shoulda left things alone. LOL, if it wasn't for cliches, we probably couldn't even communicate down here!! ;)

Oh yeah, good mornin, y'all! What's for breakfast?

    Report from Austin:

    Cricket explosion in Central Texas
Updated Tuesday, Jun 19 at 11:11 AM

You've seen them. You've heard them. And more than likely, you've even smelled them.

Crickets are everywhere you go these days in Central Texas. Recent rains and warm weather are responsible for the cricket explosion. The boom lasts only a few weeks on average.

Back in 2007 the problem was so bad the UT tower was covered with them. School officials actually shut off the lights for two weekends so as not to attract the crickets.

Haven't seen Gypzy around in awhile.. hope they didn't carry her off!!!

    :omg::gun:

*gasp* "Well I never!" <---- Southern

    lol

Good morning! I wish all you guys a great Hump Day. :sun:

Nothing burned last night Smartie. ;) Nice baked salmon, with zucchini/spinach/ripe olivie salad. Yum!

I too, have never heard the "Loster than a by George," will have to add it to the list Daisy.

This made me think of something my Father used to say from time to time, I suppose it could be applied to being lost in traffic...

"As confused as a termite in a yo-yo."

...explained to me that yo-yo's were made of wood, termites liked wood, yo-yo goes up and down and around and around.

    *sigh*

Okay, silly... but because my Father said it, I thought it was cool. lol

'mornin Ange. Dinner sounds lovely. Hope you had a nice chardonnay to go with...

My fav saying from my dad isn't too PC... but I always thought it was funny. He said it when he was surprised by something:

"Well, cut my legs off and call me Shorty."

No doubt a variation of the standard, "Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit!"

I have a question for you guys, and need your advice.

Are any of you using/own an "all in one" PC or iMac? The type where there is no CPU/tower, rather all the components are built into the monitor?

I have a nice laptop, unfortunately it's out of the country (lol), and here I am using an 11 year old desktop, which I personally prefer, but I have recently had to replace the graphics card due to it's age, and also the hard drive a year or so ago. I know it's only a matter of a short time before the motherboard goes, and I was thinking of a replacement.

It seems that the all-in-ones are the future trend, although the large CPU's are still readily available... but I'm just kinda unsure which to go with.

Below are my two considerations (in the all in ones)...

    ~ Dell PC ~

    ~ Apple iMac ~

    Advice, thoughts, opinions?

Would it be best to just drink and joke, and forget the technical advice? hahahahaha

I have an HP that has all the components built in and I like it...so much in fact the next time we buy a computer it will be an Apple. This one is great but I want an Apple....It is nice not to have all the wires hanging around. It is very compact and I like it. Will never ever go back to one that has a tower.

Daddy sayings are always cool. My Daddy had one... "She couldn't help being ugly but she could have stayed home." My husband liked that one.
