One of my fav places to 'do lunch' with the girls. The Zodiac Room. Pure mid-century high class. Models walk around showing outfits and telling you where you can find them. Trick is to keep a straight face when they say, "this is from our signature NM line and you can find it on the 3rd floor for $1275."

I've seen Lady Bird Johnson, Ann Richards and of course, Stanley Marcus. Kinda like the Sardi's of Dallas! LOL



Next time you come thru Big D, plan to stay a coupla hrs & let's do lunch at the Zodiac! Always looking for an excuse to go there!

 

I would love to go to lunch there. I bet we could have some big eyed fun...

 

Not knocking NM or anything like that but you would have to be straight, as in straight as a fence post to wear some of their clothes.. Let's face it a size 0 might look good.

 

That looks ritzy, bet they have the best food though.

 

Seems that way... but honestly, their clothes are amazing. One of my long-time g/fs and I always laugh about the identical black tee shirts we bought at NM one year. They had a 'lace-up' front.. pure sexy and the softest fabric you've ever felt. We wore those dang shirts for at least 10 yrs and LOLed everytime we saw each other wearing it. They NEVER faded or stretched outta shape... lasted until they were just plain worn out.

I like to buy cashmere socks from NM for my nieces. Worth the $25 just to get the pretty gift box. Their sox are the same way... you'll lose one before you ever wear 'em out!

Hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving Day! Got the ham & turkey warming up... fixin to start on the deviled eggs & stuffed celery & jalapenos. Watching the clock for time to break open the first bottle of wine. Gonna be near 80 this afternoon. Beautiful weather for Turkey Day!

That bouquet looks like one I got yesterday..except for the vase..
I can find a perfume I like at NM that is hard to find..except for a couple more places..I just wanted to buy something from NM and now I get their catalog and know where to get my perfume. They also send great samples, I got a nice red carry all with my samples... I will have to look at their tees..

Survived the biggest shopping day of the year. Made it home safely but didn't buy a thing worth fighting all those crowds for. My fav thing is a $5 fresh spruce Christmas wreath for the front door that I picked up at Loews. Oh well... have to wait til I'm in the mood for Christmas shopping. People out there today were prof shoppers... I'm no match, they're on a mission, I'm standing in the middle of aisle looking around. LOL

Awful quiet around here... everybody out shopping or what?

 

Some of us have been working all weekend. I'm off tomorrow, but I'm going to paint and wallpaper. He is incredulous. You know I do oil painting and crafty stuff. So I've paid £55 for one bolt of wallpaper and about £500 for various textiles for bed and windows but...hahaha...I've used what paint is lying around and mixed it to spray on the other three walls. It'll be a creamy shade to match the latte (it's really more of a pale gold shimmer) textiles. I am throwing in some pale grey and black items to spike it up stylewise.

The most horrifying part for him is the wall covering..



That is darker than the one I have, but you get the idea.
