    LOL @ the eggplant!

    Maybe you've had it, when it was bitter tasting. I have, and am not a huge fan of that taste. The trick is leaving the slices in saltwater for 15/20 minutes or so, takes all the bitterness away.

    Then again, you just may not like it PERIOD. lol


    But... I do know how to cook it minus the eggplant. :date:

    Burnt and smokey can also leave a bitter taste...but yes, saltwater bath or just salting the individual slices and then rinsing will do the trick.
    Now I'm hungry for some Baba ghanoush

    it was about 2-3 feet long, had to kill it, was sitting and saw it poke its head up from under the tv stand.

    scariest thing to date, got it with a tennis racket, smashed its head, tossed it in the trash.

    the thing that worried me was how long it might have been around inside, it could have crawled on me while i was sleeping, in my boxers etc...scaryyyyy

    I agree about salting and rinsing. I have used that method before and it does well also. :thumbsup:


    I like baba ghanoush too! Spread on a good fresh baked bread, yum! Funny thing, never made it myself, or had it stateside. Pretty common in Italia.


    *Edited to say... when I have used this method, I leave it salted for several minutes (maybe 15), prior to rinsing. Not just salt & rinse. lol

    We have it often, depending on the crop. Fresh pita bread is great with it. I make my own.

    Ugh... something I've gotta do pretty soon. Let me know when you decide. I can hardly drive these days for looking at everybody else's car. I like the looks of the Nissan Altima... but if I'm buying American, the Ford Taurus is nice, too. No idea about anything but looks. Except my car's fixin to turn over 140K miles and I know it won't last forever. However, the most serious repairs I've had were replacing a/c compressors.. other than that, no major repairs. *knock on wood* I know something major will cost more to repair than the car's worth now... so it's time to let 'er go and move on to something newer. I've had such good luck with this one... maybe I oughta stick with Dodge???
